Introduction

The product is designed using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and GSM (Global
System for Mobile Communication) Technology. RFID technology is used to authorize access to
the colleges gates through RFID badges which is proposed to be integrated in ID cards of every
student. GSM technology is used for log data acquisition through SMS text. It means registered
guardians of each student can ask for login and logout information of students in any specified
date.
The idea of creating this product came up when some incident of violence and hostility
which involves some outsiders (not registered or enrolled students) gain access to the school
without being noticed. The developers of this product believe that safety through enhanced
security system for the school should be a number one priority.
Potential benefits and advantages
1. Gaining access to the school is now controlled by RFID badges that are proposed to be
issued in each student enrolled in the school which electronically controlling access to a
magnetic lock controlled gate in the entrance and exit of the school. It means only
personnel having a valid RFID badges could gain access.
2. The product includes software that has a graphic interface showing the information of the
person using the RFID badges. Information like name, course, ID number, department
where the student belong and a profile Image of the RFID badge owner are shown in the
computer monitor who allows the security personnel to verify if the person using the
RFID badge is the actual owner. The reason for this precautionary measure is to avoid
unauthorized people using RFID badges of a student currently enrolled in the school to

inter the school premises. This method will allow security personnel to be aware of the
situation and perform necessary actions.
3. The product also includes electronic logbook system which records all login and logout
activity of each student entering and exiting the school. It records login and logout time
and other important information just like an ordinary logbook but done automatically by
the system.
4. The product also includes features like editing RFID card student information if some
updates are needed to be done. Part of a security measure for students benefits,
information is password protected. You can never change any information about the
student registered to a specific RFID badge if you do not have a password.
5. You can also delete accounts easily just by typing all ID numbers of student separated by
comma. This is advantageous when deleting accounts for students who are no longer
enrolled in the school or students who already graduate from the school.
6. The product also includes report importing feature which allows the user to import
logbook book data for a specific date. One good application for this feature is during
scenarios where students login and logout activity are needed for important purposes like
investigation or incident reports.
7. The product also includes remote logbook data acquisition through SMS. Each student is
encouraged to register a guardians mobile number. The students guardian can then
request a login and logout information through SMS. What is the significance of this
feature? There are a lot of unrecorded story about parents who are expecting their sons
or daughters to graduate only to find out that they have not been present in any of their
class the entire time they are enrolled in the school. This feature could minimize the risk
of students being absent all the time since parents could somehow monitor the
whereabouts of their children.

8. The login and logout data acquisition feature of the product is password protected. It
means you need to enter the correct password for a specific account in order to request
logbook information.

Product Cost and other expenses

One of the main goals of the developer of this product is to create the product with
minimal cost without sacrificing its quality. There are existing products in the market today
which has similar functionality with our product but it will cost 40,000Php to 80,000Php. Our
4,758Php.
