PANORAMIC OF THE CITY. DAY 7
IN SUPER IT IS READ.- “SOME DAYS LATER”
THE PARTY’S OFFICES. NABOR’S OFFICE.
Nabor in his office is having a conversation with Mr. And Mrs. Pancardo
NABOR
(HAPPY) It’s incredible! It’s outstanding!
MRS. PANCARDO
That’s why we are here to tell it to you personally,
dear. Yesterday we had super with high commands
and we learnt that.
MR. PANCARDO
We were more than happy when the president of the
party told us about it…. of course there isn’t
anything official yet, but…. it’s for sure!
MRS. PANCARDO
We’re totally sure that your proposal about closing
the homosexual bars made a point in your favor.
Nabor pictures in his mind the scene the Pancardo’s are commenting.
GAY BAR “PINKY DINKY”. NIGHT X
Rudy, the barman, is serving drinks. Same customers shown in the former
scene are in the place. A travesty is singing near a table. The people look
happy, drinking, dancing and flirting. All of a sudden police officers break
into the place and everybody runs away in different directions. The
travesties scream like bitches. Everything is a chaos when people are
arrested, Rudy is among them.
MR. PANCARDO
(OFF) Yes, indeed. Your proposal caused a very good
impression.
THE PARTY’S OFFICES. NABOR’S OFFICE. DAY 7
(CONT.) Nabor talking to the Pancardo’s.
NABOR
Really? well….
At that moment Julian comes in with a box of documents. He covers the cut
he made on one of his hands with a bandaging
NABOR
Julian! Congratulate me… I’ve been appointed as
candidate for the Presidency!
JULIAN
(PRETENDING INDIFFERENCE)

Congratulations then…. but isn’t it going to be held


first a plebiscite with all members of the party to
decide…?
Nabor and the Pancardo’s roar with laughter.
NABOR
Oh, boy…you’re so innocent!
Julian doesn’t seem happy with Nabor’s comment.
JULIAN
Yeah! democracy is a great joke…. isn’t it?
NABOR
Well now this is serious. We must start designing two
campaigns, one for the party’s pre-selection and the
best one which is the most important.
Nabor looks very happy next to the Pancardo’s. Julian looks at them with
hatred.
VANESA’S OFFICE / POLICE STATION. CHIEF CONZALEZ’S OFFICE.
Vanesa is calling Police chief SERGIO GONZALEZ. One of her hands has a
bandaging.
VANESA
Hello, chief? don’t you have any news for me?
CHIEF GONZALEZ (nice, matured guy) is in his office, watching on and on
the DVD of Tony’s murder recorded by the security camera. A secretary is
with him, she’s on his lap and he’s touching her while she takes dictation.
On the screen Nabor’s car is going away (in reverse) from the side street. (up
to this moment it’s ignored whose car it is, nor who the driver was). The
image shows date and time. The chief freezes one scene, trying to see the
number of the back plate of the car but it’s a blur.
CHIEF GONZALEZ
Well ma’am, so far we have almost nothing. Reporter
Camargo has been classified as an assault
Chief Gonzalez makes a signal to the secretary to leave him alone.
VANESA
Hey, Sergio. You’re talking to me, why so many
secrets?
Chief Gonzalez makes sure that the secretary has already left.
CHIEF GONZALEZ
A reporter’s death is very delicate babe… and worse
if they put directly the gun into his mouth, this isn’t
common in a regular assault…Now I’ll tell you more,
but it’s confidential and is between you and me. I’m
supporting you. huh? you can do the same when
necessary.

VANESA
It’s a deal, sure count on me!
CHIEF GONZALEZ
It seems that one of the security cameras of Main
Avenue recorded something suspicious just where
the corpse was found, at the same time we
estimated the victim died.
Vanesa gets surprised
VANESA
You mean that the murderer was caught by the
camera?
CHIEF GONZALEZ
I only can assure you that there was caught a car
coming in reverse from the side street, but we
haven’t been able to identify the number of the
plates nor the driver.
VANESA
So, the cameras are garbage!
CHIEF GONZALEZ
C’mon, take it easy! We’re contacting a specialized
lab where they can help us to clearly see the image
recorded, so there are possibilities to identify
numbers and letters of the plate, but you know we
need some money, nothing is for free.
VANESA
OK, just tell me your bank account number and I’ll
make the deposit!
CHIEF GONZALEZ
That’s my girl! You’re so easy…
Outside Vanesa’s offices angry voices are heard. It’s Mr. ORDOÑEZ, Tavito’s
father, and Fernanda the ones that are arguing.
VANESA
Be in touch. I have to go….
Vanesa hangs up just when Mr. Ordoñez breaks into the office. Fernanda is
walking after him.
ORDOÑEZ
(AGRESSIVELY) Where is my son Tavito? Gimme my
kid!
Ordoñez is drunk and threatening.
FERNANDA
(TO VANESA) This man is drunk and doesn’t want to
leave

ORDOÑEZ
Gustavo is my son; you have no rights on him
VANESA
Tavito himself decided to be here, Mr. Ordoñez….
ORDOÑEZ
You’re liars! I ain’t home when you took him with
you…
FERNANDA
Yes, that’s right. You weren’t in your house because
you were drinking in a bar
Ordoñez keeps silent, feeling guilty. Two security guards arrive to the office.
ORDOÑEZ
you ain’t anybody to know what I do…
VANESA
Mr. Ordoñez we are a social legal institution
supported by authorities, and by the way. (TO
FERNANDA), what are the results of Tavito’s physical
exam?
FERNANDA
Tavito’s body shows bruises, a consequence of
having been regularly abused.
VANESA
(IRONICALLY) So, Mr. Ordoñez, can you explain that?
ORDOÑEZ
He’s my son and I raise him my way! Probably you
can’t have any kids and you’re taking children away
from their parents!
Vanesa gets offended with Ordoñez’s comments and gives orders to security
guards
VANESA
Take this person out of here immediately! The boy
will remain here until this situation is cleared up.
Security guards grab Ordoñez and immobilize him
VANESA
You may rest assure that your son will be sent to
another place, with caring parents that will take care
of him with love. He has the right to be happy and
loved. (TO SECURITY GUARDS) take him away,
please!
Ordoñez is taken by the guards but he continues insulting to Vanesa
ORDOÑEZ
You bitch! You’re a fucking bitch!
Vanesa endures the insults in front of Fernanda.

VANESA
I promise that this good for-nothing won’t see his son
for the rest of his lousy life!
Fernanda goes to a pitcher of water that is on top of a file cabinet. She pours
some water in it, opens one drawer and takes a box of aspirins, offers them
to Vanesa
VANESA
Calm down Vanesa. Here, take an aspirin….
Fernanda notices the injury Vanesa has on the palm of her hand.
FERNANDA
Vanesa, what happened in your hand?
VANESA
I cut myself with a broken mirror
Fernanda looks surprised. Vanesa is trying to control her anger.
THE TELEPHONE RINGS
VANESA
(VERY UPSET) And now what?
FERNANDA
(ANSWERING THE PHONE) I’ll take it…Hello? (PAUSE)
… (DISCRETELY TO VANESA), it’s your husband…
Vanesa with mimic tells Fernanda to give her the telephone.
VANESA
Hello, honey?
NICE FLOWERSHOP
Nabor is talking on his cellular while buying a huge bouquet of flowers
NABOR
We’ve done it Vanesa!
VANESA
What honey? What do you mean?
NABOR
The Pancardo’s has given me the good news…I’ve
been elected as candidate to the presidency!
Vanesa’s mood changes totally and looks thrilled.
VANESA
Really? Congratulations my darling! (TO FERNANDA
KEEPING UP APPEARANCES) Nabor is the party’s
precandidate to the presidency!
Fernanda honestly shares Vanesa’s excitement.
NABOR
(WORRIED) Is somebody there with you?

VANESA
Yes honey, it’s Fernanda.
NABOR
Be careful sweetheart, because this is unofficial….
VANESA
(SOOTHING HIM) Don’t worry honey, but for me is
already a fact. , huh?
NABOR
What about a celebration tonight darling?
VANESA
Yeah, that will be great honey!
Vanesa looks happy and satisfied.
VIEW OF THE CITY. NIGHT 7
It gets dark.
MARTINA’S HOME. LIVING ROOM.
Genaro is dressed up and is brushing his teeth. The doorbell rings, Genaro
finishes the brushing and goes to the door.
GENARO
I’m coming!
The door opens and Genaro is surprised to see a huge bouquet of flowers,
but when he sees who’s behind it, he becomes serious.
NABOR
Hi, good evening!
GENARO
(SERIOUS)
Hi…. (TR) How did you get my address?
NABOR
I saw it in your job application on my wife’s desk, by
accident.
GENARO
I’m complicating matters unnecessarily with that job!
NABOR
May I come in? These flowers are heavy
Genaro silently, lets him in, doesn’t take the flowers and the door stays half
open. They go to the living-dining room which is in neat. Nabor places the
flowers on top of the dining table. Genaro gets impatient.
NABOR
Well at least tell me that the flowers are pretty, huh?
GENARO
(INDIFFERENT), They’re nice, thanks…well sorry but
I’m going out and….

NABOR
Oh, really? is it with a boy friend or with a girl friend?
GENARO
Give me a break, OK? Stop acting as a politician! I‘m
going right to the point, I want nothing with you, is
that clear?
NABOR
C’mon darling, I apologize if I offended you…I really
mean it…OK my babe?
GENARO
I’m not your babe! Don’t call me babe! You have
disappointed me so!
Little by little Nabor comes closer to Genaro who hesitates and doesn’t know
what to do.
NABOR
Yes, I know that I’ve made many mistakes, I’m sorry!
GENARO
That thing of pushing me to have sex with you and
also to getting high has been very disgusting. What
do I look like a drug addict? Do you think you can
buy me?
NABOR
Yes, I’m sorry. I really thought you were easy!
GENARO
Well man, you were wrong…and I’m gay but a
decent person.
NABOR
Honey, that’s why I really like of you. You have real
moral values and such a common sense…. let’s do
something …. let’s pretend that we’ve just met. (HE
EXTENDES HIS HAND)Nice to meet you, my name’s
Nabor Restrepo.
Genaro looks with distrust at Nabor who is extending his hand waiting for
Genaro’s, finally they shake hands.
GENARO
OK, OK…. nice to meet you too, Mr. Restrepo, my
name’s Genaro and….
Nabor takes advantage that he‘s holding Genaro’s hand and in a sudden he
pulls him towards his body and kisses him on the mouth. Genaro is showing
resistance but little by little he corresponds. Since the door is half open Julian
who has just arrived without being noticed, sees everything. Julian is furious
and is ready to separate them but then he looks at his wounded hand and
decides to leave the place, he’s pretty mad.
Genaro gets rid of Nabor in silent.

GENARO
Today, you’re very jumpy, huh? Why?
NABOR
Today I received very good news. (TR)…when I was
your age, things were different.
GENARO
Oh, yeah?
NABOR
Yes, but that’s the past…. we are together again and
that’s important (HE STARES AT HIM), darling, would
you like to try again, from the very beginning?
GENARO
Only if you promise the beginning is from “zero”, as
“friends” only. No rushes…
NABOR
It’s a deal! and to show you that I’m only your friend,
I’m leaving so you may go out and enjoy yourself,
OK?
GENARO
OK! and now you gotta go home!
NABOR
So long ….
GENARO
See you buddy!
Nabor leaves and Genaro stays worried, pensive.
IN FRONT OF MARTINA’S HOUSE.
Nabor gets on his car and goes away. Hidden in his own car, Julian observes
the situation. He’s playing with the infrared glasses in his hands.
JULIAN
(TO HIMSELF) Fucking son of a bitch!
Julian seems upset and starts sounding the horn of his car to call Genaro.
Genaro shows up ready to go out with him.
JULIAN’S CAR. PARKED IN FRONT OF MARTINA’S HOUSE
Genaro gets on Julian’s car and looks at Julian’s injury in his hand.
GENARO
What’s up Julian? (ADMIRING THE INTERIOR OF THE
CAR). Wow! This car is cooler than the other. one.
and your glasses, hey man! Very cool! so buddy,
where we gonna go?
Julian takes the glasses off and puts them in the glove compartment
JULIAN
I don’t know man, where you wanna go?

GENARO
Sure you know cool places, don’t you? And what’s in
your hand?
JULIAN
It happened with a broken mirror.
GENARO
That was bad…
JULIAN
(MALICIOUS)
Yeah, but soon this injury will be OK.
Julian starts the car and drives away.
NABOR’S RESIDENCE. LIVING ROOM. / CHINESE CAFETERIA.
From the P.O.V of Saint Sebastian’s painting. Nabor is alone. Next to him
there is a bucket full of ice and a bottle of champagne. He looks at his watch.
NABOR
(IMPATIENT)
Oh, where is that woman?
Nabor takes the telephone speaker and dials Vanesa’s cellular phone.
Vanesa is talking with Chief Gonzalez. She gives him an envelope with
money.
VANESA
Why has to be cash? I could’ve made a deposit in the
bank.
CHIEF GONZALEZ
Listen darling, this is the safest way, for both of us.
Vanesa looks at her cell phone and she sees that Nabor’s calling her.
VANESA
It’s Nabor….
Vanesa hesitates to answer the phone. At the end she answers. The chief is
listening to her carefully.
VANESA
Yes, honey?
NABOR
I’m already at home, where are you?
VANESA
(EMBARRASSED) Oh, in the middle of a traffic jam!
but I’ll be there soon, OK?
NABOR
Don’t forget we have to celebrate, so hurry up! don’t
leave me alone!

VANESA
Of course not, dear! (TR) Oh, I gotta go, we’re
advancing again. Bye.
CHIEF GONZALEZ (JOKING)
Hum… the booty call, huh?
VANESA
Sure, but that can wait… (TR) it’s necessary to
accelerate the video images, OK?
He fans his own face with the envelope, ironically. She stands up.
CHIEF GONZALEZ
Whatever you wish, my lady….
Gonzalez is happy and follows Vanesa’s departure.
JULIAN’S CAR MOVING ALONG “THE BRIDES” STREET.
Inside the car Julian and Genaro are looking for a bar. Julian standing on the
car seat with a bottle of beer in his hand shows up through the car’s sunroof.
GENARO
(VERY HAPPY) Hey! I’m the king of the World!
Julian is annoyed but at the same time amused with Julian’s hilarious
attitude.
JULIAN
I am also the queen of the fairies!
Then he gets into the car and sits down.
JULIAN
Hey buddy; you’re having a good time, ain’t you?
GENARO
Yeah, it’s been such a long time I wasn’t that happy.
Say man! Here’s some beer for you.
JULIAN
No, thanks. Police can come anytime and apply the
alcohol meter.
GENARO
C’mon, you’ve got influences.
JULIAN
(PROUD) Maybe, but anyhow we have to be careful
GENARO
You know something, buddy? I wanna be free today,
no affectations at all!
JULIAN
Oh. sure, sure
The car is going along of one of the city‘s avenues where there are many
shops of bride dresses. Their windows are illuminated and open

GENARO
Wow! we’re in the Brides Street. I’ve always
dreamed of getting married in a pretty church.
JULIAN
Really?
GENARO
Yeah, yeah. All dressed up in white, with my
bridesmaids and everything and in the Metropolitan
Cathedral!
Genaro’s eyes shine.
CATHOLIC CHURCH. NIGHT X. (FANTASY).
Genaro dressed as a bride with a crown of flowers, a white veil is coming into
the church which is empty.
WEDDING MARCH MUSIC IS PLAYED.
GENARO
(EXCITED HUMMING THE MUSIC)
“He got married, he screwed it up…he became a
homo, now he’s a fucking shit…. ”
Genaro dances alone along the main aisle of the church.
OUTSIDE JULIAN’S CAR IN MOTION ON THE BRIDES STREET. NIGHT 7
Julian and Genaro drive in the car. Julian is driving with a light smile.
JULIAN
That’s an impossible dream, dude.
Genaro keeps smiling with hopes.
VANESA’S CAR IN A HEAVY TRAFFIC STREET.
Vanesa, who’s going to Nabor’s, is in the middle of a heavy traffic street.
She’s annoyed and while waiting she watches Tony’s photo.
VANESA
I promise I’ll find your murderer and I’ll take revenge
for you.
Vanesa is frustrated.
FIRST CLASS TABLE DANCE BAR.
A SEXY BIMBO GIRL is dancing grabbing the tube. She’s wearing a top and
a thong. Chief Gonzales gets closer to her and puts a bill in her thong. The
girl approaches her breasts to Gonzalez’s face and he in turn puts another
bill in her bra. The girl gets up, turns back to him and blends her body to see
Gonzalez between her separated legs. Gonzalez so sexually stimulated,
sweating, sips his whiskey.

VANESA’S ASSOCIATION OFFICES. YARD.


The place is lonely. A SECURITY GUARD is patrolling around. A swing in the
playground is moved by the air. An INTRUDER is in the place, he walks from
the outside yard to the interior of the building. The SECURITY GUARD keeps
walking, the INTRUDER attacks him by hitting him with a bottle on his head
and the guard faints. It is dark and the intruder’s face cannot be seen.
BOYS DORMITORY.
Tavito is asleep like the rest of the boys. The boy has a nightmare.
TAVITO
(ASLEEP) mom, don’t go, don’t go.
Outside the window the shadow of the intruder is moving around in the yard.
All of a sudden, Tavito wakes up scared.
TAVITO (SLEEPY)
Mom…!
Tavito sits up, still sleepy; he notices that all boys are asleep. Tavito has
heard a noise, stands up and leaves the dormitory.
CORRIDOR.
Tavito leaves the dormitory and walks down the corridor.
TAVITO
Mom? Are you there?
The place is totally dark. There is a door that isn’t well closed and the wind
makes it opens and closes.
TAVITO
(AWAKEN)Mom…?
The intruder’s hand covers Tavito’s mouth, carries him and takes him, Tavito
struggles helplessly. The intruder’s face is scarcely illuminated by the light of
the streetlight and then Tavito sees that the intruder is his father, Mr.
Ordoñez.
ORDOÑEZ
You’re my kid and you come with me
Ordoñez carries his anguished son.
GAY BAR “THE CAVE”
Genaro and Julian get into the place and look around. The place simulates to
be a cave, with cave paintings on its walls.
THE MUSIC PLAYED IS ELECTRONIC, DRUM & BASS STYLE.
At the back some performers disguised as skeletons are ready to present a
show of dance and juggling with torches. Genaro and Julian walk into the
place.
All customers are men, of different ages, young, middle age and elderly
ones. The outfits as well are more alternative, erotic in some cases, wearing
vests or pants of leather or very tight t-shirts and pants. The environment is
erotic. Deep sights among them serve as communication of attraction.

Genaro focus his attention in a dark corridor in which there are two Afro-
American hunks, their chests are nude, and they’re wearing camouflaged
pants and military boots. In general the illumination of the place is little, the
chiaroscuros are relevant. The atmosphere is felt forbidden, sinister,
arousing.
Genaro and Julian are at the bar. Julian has drunk only pure water and
Genaro is a little drunk after some beers.
GENARO
(SAD) I don’t know what about Nabor. Sometimes I
feel that he really loves me, but I don’t understand
him.
Julian hides his resentment against Genaro, but pretends to be sincere.
JULIAN
Look Genaro, Nabor is a person that has suffered a
lot and to be where he’s now he’s endured many
problems.
GENARO
Yeah, but I ain’t guilty of his fucking traumas
Genaro wipes his eyes, he looks sad.
JULIAN
Hey buddy, do you love Nabor?
GENARO
I don’t know. When I first saw him it was something
magic or it was my imagination, but he’s strange…. If
I’m not in love already with him…I’m afraid I’m very
close
Genaro sips his beer. Julian for a moment looks at Genaro with a mixture of
hate and compassion. Genaro proposes a toast to Julian.
GENARO
To you!
They toast
VANESA’S ASSOCIATION. CORRIDOR. / VANESA’S CAR NEAR NABOR’S
RESIDENCE.
From a public telephone booth some CHILDREN of the Association are
calling Vanesa. The security guard is with them, rubbing the bruise on his
head.
BOY 1
Yes, Mrs. Restrepo…when I went to pee to the
bathroom I saw that Tavito wasn’t in his bed. Then
with other children we saw the officer on the floor.
Vanesa is on the phone while driving. She’s close to Nabor’s place.
VANESA
Are you sure he isn’t in? Have you looked all around?

LITTLE CHILD
Yeah, but he ain’t in. We’re afraid
A little boy makes a comment.
LITTLE CHILD 2
What if the bogeyman came?
The youngest children start panicking. Vanesa is worried but tries to control
herself
VANESA
Calm down boys, the monster doesn’t exist, sure
Tavito is someplace around in the house or he’s
playing a joke and he’s hidden somewhere. I’ll call
Fernanda to look after you tonight, OK?
LITTLE CHILD
OK.
VANESA
Bye, bye….
Vanesa hangs up. Very quickly she dials another number. While she’s waiting
for an answer she drives to the Restrepo’s residence.
VANESA
Hello? Fernanda? Tavito was kidnapped. (PAUSE) I
don’t know, but it’s necessary that you stay with the
kids tonight. I’m going to Tavito’s father’s home,
maybe he knows something. (PAUSE). yes I must
have his address somewhere (PAUSE), one more
thing. fire that idiot guard immediately! bye
Vanesa hangs up. She drives her car very fast and turning around she gets
away from the Restrepo’s residence.
TAVITO’S HOUSE. LIVING ROOM.
It’s a poorly and careless room. Tavito is crying in silence. Ordoñez is
drinking.
ORDOÑEZ
(UPSET) Stop crying, boy! you’re here with me, your
father, huh?
TAVITO
I wanna go….
ORDOÑEZ
You ain’t going anywhere. You stay here with me
TAVITO
I wanna go with my mom.
Ordoñez starts loosing control.

ORDOÑEZ
Your mom is dead, you hear me? (WITH REMORSE)
My woman is dead!
TAVITO
It was your fault! You killed her! You beat her, you
beat her and she’s dead now! (CRYING OUT LOUD)
mommy!
Ordoñez is out of his mind, throws the bottle against the wall and it shatters.
He comes closer to Tavito in a threaten attitude, grabs him and shakes him
when Tavito wants to run away.
ORDOÑEZ
You wanna see your mother, huh? Do you want to
die, idiot boy?
Tavito looks at him with terror.
TAVITO
(WITH CONTEMPT) She did love me! I hate you! I
don’t want to live with you!
Ordoñez looks at him with fury and slaps him on the face.
ORDOÑEZ
Oh, yeah? say it again, huh?
He slaps Tavito on the face again.
ORDOÑEZ
Say it, say it…!
Tavito’s mouth starts bleeding.
TAVITO
(DESPERATED) I wanna go! I -don’t -want –to- be-
with- you! I hate you, I hate you! you’re so mean and
ugly!
VANESA’S CAR IN MOTION. ON THE MAIN AVENUE.
Vanesa is driving her car down the road. She’s talking on the phone
VANESA
Listen! I don’t care if Chief Gonzalez isn’t on duty
tonight…. get him now! (PAUSE) (DOMINEERING) You
don’t know who I am, huh?
TAVITO’S HOME. BATHROOM.
Ordoñez drags Tavito to the bathroom. Tavito resists by kicking and
