This year Artists Creating Together is hosting the 29th annual Festival Day: Art in the Garden: We Dig Art! on
Friday, May 8, 2015!
Each year, ACT art programming culminates in an annual arts celebration called Festival Day, held at Lincoln Campus in Grand
Rapids. Festival Day is an event that is uniquely designed for students with special needs of all abilities, ages 7-26. Over 100 Special
Education classrooms from throughout Kent County, more than 500 volunteers, and 25 artists gather at Lincoln Campus in Grand
Rapids for this amazing day.
Throughout the day, students get to participate in a series of hands-on art workshops in a variety of disciplines, including visual arts,
music, dance, and more, as well as a variety of outdoor art activities. Many organizations and volunteer groups from throughout the
community partner with ACT to put on this exciting event. Volunteers are needed to assist with all areas of Festival Day, and this
wonderful program would not be possible without your support!

Festival Day Information

Location: Lincoln Campus; 860 Crahen Ave NE; Grand Rapids, MI 49525
Event Time: 9:10 am -1:20 pm
Volunteer Arrival & Check-in: Volunteers are asked to arrive at Lincoln Campus by 8:30 am. Upon arrival, we ask that one
staff person/representative check-in on behalf of your volunteer group in the Lincoln School Cafeteria. After checking in, you will
be directed to your groups volunteer placement.
Volunteer Placement: You will be notified of your groups volunteer placement by e-mail no later than Friday, May 1, 2015.
Festival Day Clean-up: The final Festival Day workshop ends at 1:20 pm. We ask that volunteers stay to help artists clean-up their
workshop area. Clean-up should be completed around 2:00 pm.
*Please note: Due to increased costs, we will not be offering volunteer t-shirts this year. We apologize for any inconvenience, and
thank you for your understanding. Instead, we invite you to wear your school or organization t-shirts, or decorate your own t-shirts
for the day!
