October 8, 1993 was the unforgettable day for my parents Hitler C.

Dangatan and Laida A. Dangatan when I was born. They called me Laizel. I
am the youngest among the siblings namely Lailer and Hitson.
Since I was born, my parents are already Christians. I formally
became a member of our church when I was baptized on September 12,
2004. But years later, we transferred in Tuao but with the same church due
to some conflicts.
I started my educational career by enrolling at Great Shepherd Bible
Christian Learning Center (GSBCLC). That was for my Preparatory stage.
After which, I took my kindergarten level and
finished my elementary years at Piat Central
Elementary School (PCES). At first, I showed
good performances but when I reached grade
V, I started to go down. So, I graduated only
with my place in the top 7.
After my elementary education, I studied at
Cagayan State University Piat Laboratory
High School (CSUP LHS). During my high
school days,
I realized
that
being
a
son/daughter of a teacher is pressuring, especially when you are with the
same school. Seemingly, all people around you are looking at you waiting
what will be your failures. Like in my elementary, I excelled in my first
three years, 1st year to 3rd year. But when my last year in my high school
came, I gave many disappointments to my family especially to my parents.
My academic aspect deteriorated.
These instances in both elementary and high school led me to think
that I am only good at first and when I am about to reach the end, I always
fail. I am hoping that this will not be repeated in college. Anyway, I still
graduated and belonged to top 5.
After graduation, I decided to take Bachelor in Secondary Education
in Tuguegarao. I didnt like to study again at CSUP because I wanted to
leave all the bad memories I had there. So, I enrolled in Tuguegarao. My
only problem was my boarding house. The decision of my father was to let
me stay in the boarding house of our relative. Then, we paid in advance.
But when I saw the room, I was disappointed because there was no
enough space. Thereafter, I complained it to my father. Then, he said that I
will just enroll here at Piat because accordingly, it was difficult to find
another boarding house at that time. I obeyed him and so, I enrolled at
CSUP and now I am taking BSE major in English.

With the memories I had during my high school days, I preferred to

stay in a corner and choose to be alone. However, the attitude I had was
changed because I met new friends. They made me realize that being with
the company of others adds joy and color into your life. As they say, no
man is an island.
With my almost three years of stay in CSU as a college student, I
was involved in various activities in and outside the campus. Presently, I
am a student leader as well as a writer. With these, I experienced
beautiful and unforgettable memories which I believe can help me to
become a future good language teacher and a better individual.
Now, I dont regret enrolling here at CSU Piat because of the
experiences I had and I am enjoying the company of my classmates and
friends. CSU already serves as my home. Hence, I can say, It is nice to be
home!
