Chapter 3

RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS


This chapter explains, evaluates, and interprets the
gathered data. The said data were obtained through the use of
questionnaires. Moreover, the data are illustrated below in
tabular presentation according to their respective order in the
problems treated in the study.
Grade 7 Respondents

The results entail that most of the students agreed that they
got high scores in quizzes because of social media (based on the
1st indicator) but some also say it can be a big distraction
(based on the 2nd indicator). They also said that social media
can help them gain friends (basedon the 7th indicator), boost
their self-confidence and can be knowledgeable about whats
happening around because of social media. But most of all they
prioritize their studies before social media (based on the 10th
indicator). The grand mean is 2.71 which we can verbally be
interpreted as agree.
Table 2 depicts the dependent variable, Personal. It
presents the effects of Social Media on students way of
thinking.

The results entail that many students says they cant live a
life without social networking sites (based on the 1st indicator)

this shows that social media is needed by students. These


students also say that social media can also be their stress
reliever (based on the 9th indicator).They also disagree to use
their social media accounts, for more than 5 hours a day.
(based on the 4th indicator). The grand mean is 2.50 which we can
verbally interpret as agree.
Table 5 presents the overall assessment of the effects of
social media on students performance from Grade 7 students.

The result above show that School Performance has the


highest mean which is 2.72 with a verbal interpretation of
agree (based on the 1st indicator). Meanwhile, the indicator
that has the lowest mean is personal having a mean of 2.50 which
has a verbal interpretation of agree. The overall mean is 2.61
which can be verbally interpreted as agree.

that they are more knowledgeable about whats happening around
because of social media (based on the 7th indicator) some also

say that they become dependent to social media whenever it comes


to school requirements (based on the 9th indicator) The grand
mean is 3.10 which we can verbally interpret as strongly agree.

that social media is their source of happiness (based on the 10th
indicator) but some also agree that social networking sites
taught them bad lessons (based on the 8th indicator). The grand
mean is 3.07which we can verbally interpret as agree.

social media on students performance from Grade 8 students.
