Youth and World Peace

When war influences youth, youth influences war. Youth empowerment is the first step for peace.

Youth which we all refer as Young Blood are alluded to be of Radical Mindsets. But we dont
realise , youth intellect is based more on their upbringing then their pre-defined behaviour. History
has witnessed numerous wars, uncountable conflicts and struggles. As we analyse our recent
history, world witnessed two global scaled wars in a span of just 30 years. The biggest pivotal
figure of World War-II, Adolf Hitler was a 25 years old soldier fighting in World War-I. The
situations, conflicts, hatred and his struggles led him to another war. If there had been no World
War-I, there might have been no World War-II. But this is something we cant change.

What we can do is to stop the present wars and conflicts. A generation born in such conditions is
just influenced by bloodshed. A child born at the time of conflicts is affected by things rattling
around, even the basic education and human rights have no meaning for him. That child grows up in
a social position of vengeance and vendetta. Thus, ending wars should be our first priority if we
dont want another generation of brainwashed meaningless fighters.

The problem is that we all know these things, and most of us just ignore this because we have
nothing to do with it. But what we dont realise, is that, the present conflicts are actually affecting
us directly or indirectly. In this globalised world, even if a country is facing civil war, its all
resources are confiscated which some other country may need. Also, if there is a conflict in some
neighbouring country, each countrys bad outfits may take advantage of situation and spread hatred.
It takes no time to induce into wars but its a lot of time to stop them and make peace.

The best way to spread peace is definitely Youth Empowerment. Influencing youth to empower
themselves against conflicts can help bring peace. Todays youth leaders are tomorrows world
leaders. We should make sure that their conscious minds are guided by peaceful inspirations, so that
they can actively stand against the ones who are generating threats to their nations.

In this era of globalisation, as we say has made our world closer than it ever was. We should take
inspirations from each other to bear upon our own issues. Youth action plans should be educating,
creating awareness among the youth against the atrocities of wars. There should be different youth
action plans based upon each nations need. At present, terrorism is the worst and biggest loop hole
in our strategy to attain world peace. We need to control it, else it will rot our world from inside by
spreading fear and unrest in the name of religion and land. But what we call as terrorist outfit or
group is strong only because it has some support from people or some wicked-minded nation whos
sole interest is to spread unrest.

Unrested bloodshed and man-slaughtering carnage in Nigeria, Syria, Iraq and parts of middle east
should be a high-alarm for all of us to maintain peace, lest everyone will just kill each other for
nothing. Youth should be encouraged to take active participation in youth peace building program.
Though the radicalism seems favourable to our minds, but we should get out the comfort zone and
understand the power of confrontation in conflicts. Conflicts cannot be ended by wars, it just seems
the easy way to get what we want. But we should actually promote the idea of tackling the situation
with tranquillity.

We have learnt that why we need to empower youth ? but now how can it be achieved? - basic
answer is simple, that it should be the role of government to treat every situation peacefully so they
do not end up in radicalism. secondly, where government themselves are lost in their conflicts, it
should be the responsibility of the Global organisations to take steps forward to confront the youth
and comprehend them with the situation. We should empower the concept of Peace through
wisdom and knowledge ,according to which we can conduct drives in conflict areas to aware the
people especially youth about everything they need to know. The complex answer to the question
can be setting up a new branch of global organisation with UN or Independent whos sole job will
be to provide a platform for confrontation, ceasefire and peace. Where any conflict could be and
should be resolved without bloodshed. Yes, we already have this kind of mechanism, but there
should be many alterations within the primitive and primary framework of it. It should be
trustworthy for everyone and it should be unbiased without any external pressures. Also, it should
be established & situated at some non-identical and non-territorial place belonging to no one.

During this war-time situations, we should also focus our minds on the social effects of it. War
crimes is one of them, uncountable refugees are another. There should be proper hearing of all the
cases of war crime and criminals should be punished heavily. Also, in a failed and conflicted nation,
unaccountable refugees are also created. There are children, young persons, everyone affected and
living in worst conditions. We should empower the youth and help them to rehabilitate into stable
state. If those youth are not handled carefully and sensitively, then that uncared generation becomes
vulnerable to radicalism in the name of revenge.

There are big leaps, big solutions, big answers and everything. But it is nothing if we do not apply
them. There is a difference between knowing and being. We know everything but until we dont
do anything , it doesnt even matter. The thing we can do is support youth led organisations working
for peace and encourage other youth to do the same. The next best thing that can be done is to
support and volunteer for youth building programmes.

We all should ask ourselves. Why are we even fighting with each other? Keeping aside our religious
barriers, social barriers, community barriers, national barriers, we should think each other as one big
world family which is need of peace and think at least once as a human being. Wars once started are
untamed and the outcome of war is ever misery that cannot be unturned.

Youth has played an important part in development of mankind. All the biggest start-ups ,
innovations were and are now being developed by the youth. We should also empower youth to join
politics and take part in political struggles. Fresh minds are never harmful, they give a different
perspective for ongoing problems.

History has witnessed and will witness the power of youth. It is in our hands what kind of power it
will be, either good or bad. There is no wrong in saying that, time doesnt changes youth but youth
has the ability to change the time forever.
