Figure 1: Methodological scheme proposed for a growing ield that, in analogy with the ield
of artiicial life, we might call artiicial embodiment. In order to investigate a hypothesis about
the embodied mind, a novel human-computer interface (HCI) is constructed with the speciic
aim of modulating a users sensorimotor embodiment so as to enable the experimental
manipulation of the users irst-person perspective. (Figure adapted from Froese, Suzuki, Ogai
