As you move around the campus, activity forms are provided for

you to document your observations. It is advised that you read the


entire worksheet before proceeding to the school site. A good
understanding of the activities and tasks to be accomplished in the
activity sheets yield better learning results.

The office of the principal is


clean and neat. Papers and
documents were arranged in
proper places.
The library has several books
available. There are also other
resources such as posters and
displays. The whole room is
air-conditioned to make each
student
comfortable
with
their stay inside the library.
This room, which is also the
Guidance Counselor office, is
located near the computer
laboratory and the library.
This common area has few
tables and chairs. Generally,
the place is clean and well
ventilated. Here, they serve
snacks and lunch for everyone
in the school.
The school clinic has medical
paraphernalia
needed
for
emergency cases.
There is
also a school nurse who is
assigned to take care of the
facility and do the monitoring
of the students health.
It is a room wherein a
gathering of large number of
people is held. It has enough
computers for the students.
It has reading materials such
as periodicals, books and
magazines are available.
The speech lab is very useful
for English subjects speech
classes.

The school that I observed was Catarman National High school (CNHS) in
which the classrooms, offices and buildings are conducive for student learning.
It

develops

social

interactions.

Conducive

physical

learning

environment is safe, clean and orderly. The school is found in place and the
classrooms are appropriate to the number of students.
My impression on the offices was good; the school has different offices
but one that I like among the offices is the office of the principal of this school
because it was very beautiful. I want in this school environment because the
facilities, the classrooms and the offices are conducive for the student learning.
Beatification of this and cleanliness were undertaken of this school by tree
planting and proper waste disposal. As a future teacher, I will care the
classroom.

There are approximately thirty five learners


chairs set in eight columns by five rows.
Arranged fairly aligned, students seems to have
the liberty to make themselves comfortable on
their seats.

4. BLACKBOARD

There is a white board in front of the class. It in


its best condition and is frequently used in the
class discussion.

5. LEARNING MATERIALS

There are no other learning materials inside the


classroom besides the learning aids used by the
teacher on their class discussions.

6. Cabinet

It is where the cleaning materials are kept.

OBSERVATION REPORT ON CLASSROOM VISIT

Date of Visit: January 9, 2015
We conduct our observation at Catarman National High School.
It is a must for as a PTCP students to know the school facilities,
familiarized us in every function of it in teaching learning
process. And I found out that in every classroom it is important
to

have

wall

displays,

teachers

table,

learners

desk,

blackboard, learning materials, cleaning materials and a school


calendar in order for the classrooms to become conducive to
learning. The teaching learning process becomes organized and
easy with the materials that I mentioned. Students become
active in the class discussion because they are comfortable with
the information are posted in their classroom.

ANALYSIS
1. How do the school campus and the classroom in particular
impact on the learning of the students going to school? What
are your conclusions?
I conclude that the school has a great impact in
learning, in the sense that they have a lot of students in
school and that only shows how great is the impact of the
school to particular learning process. The classrooms are
filled with thoughts, and learning that a student/pupil can
get.
2. How does this relate to your knowledge of child and
adolescent development/ How does this relate to your
knowledge of facilitating learning?

In the subjects child and adolescent development and


facilitating
learning, we
learned
that
the
learning
environment is the place where teaching and learning can
take place in the most effective and productive manner. Also,
a physical environment that is clean, orderly, well ventilated,
well lighted, spacious that allows movement and free from
unnecessary distracters is conducive to learning.
With this, we have learned that being a teacher, we
must know how to create a good learning environment that is
conducive for learning. We must know how to restructure it
to the best way it could be just to make sure that the
learners will enjoy every bit of our lesson being shared to
them so that they will become productive citizens in the
future.
REFLECTIONS
1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just
observed? Why?
Yes, I would like to teach in the school that I have observed
in the sense that the environment of the school is good. The
building is situated in a good place which provides proper
ventilation and better environment
2. What kind of school campus is conducive to learning?
In my own views and opinion, a certain school can be
considered conducive to learning if it has complete facilities
such as standard size classrooms, shops and laboratories and
library. The surroundings are clean, well- maintained and free
from any pollution.
3. What kind of classroom is conducive to learning?
4. A classroom can be considered conducive to learning if it is
clean, well- ventilated and with proper lightning. It should
also have the complete facilities and equipments necessary
to facilitate the teaching learning process. Lastly, it should
not be too crowded to prevent classroom management
problems and to maximize learning.
5. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer to
number 3?
Ill try to remember with all my heart the lessons I have
learned in facilitating learning subject and field study course.
With these, it would help me create an ideal learning
environment.
6. Write your additional learning and insights here.
The teacher must know how to set the atmosphere inside the
classroom. A threatening atmosphere isnt good for the
students. They will suppress their true selves and this will
only build a wall between them and the teacher. The teacher
must know how to balance being friendly and as an image of
authority inside the class.

MY PERSONAL ILLUSTRATION OF AN EFFECTIVE SCHOOL


ENVIRONMENT
Many have spoken about what should be an effective school
environment is. But for me, just having these two characteristics is
well enough.
Firstly, the physical features must just not be tidy, clean,
spacious, well ventilated and lighted. It must be a school that
brings out the inner self of the students at helps them to achieve
what they wanted to be.
And secondly, the psychological as well as the social
atmosphere must be non-threatening where they feel they are
respected and accepted for who they are and for what they say or
do.
