Welcome To The 2015 Organized Home Challenge

& Declutter 365 Daily Missions!

Hi, my name is Taylor Flanery, and I want to thank you so much for being a subscriber to the Home

Storage Solutions 101 newsletter. As of this writing there are already over 80,000 subscribers who
want to get their homes organized and decluttered this year, just like you.

Whats Included In This Free Gift?

I hope you enjoy your free gifts which Ive attached. This includes:
List of all 52 of the Organized Home Challenges for 2015
2015 Declutter Calendar with daily 15 minute missions

So How Do The Challenges & Daily Missions Work?

The weekly challenges and daily missions are designed to work, in tandem, to help you get your home
decluttered and organized, slowly, over the course of a year.

As a subscriber youll get each weeks Challenge sent directly into your email inbox every Monday

morning, as a friendly reminder. Each challenge has a different focus, typically a room or type of item to
get organized during that week, such as the kitchen or your kids toys. Sometimes though the weekly

challenge focuses on a habit I think you should adopt, such as meal planning, making a laundry schedule,
etc., which can make your life and home run more smoothly.

A key component of actually getting organized is decluttering various spaces in your home. Thats why I
also created the daily missions. As much as possible Ive tried to assign a decluttering task that

corresponds with that weeks challenge, so while were working on organizing the kitchen with the

challenges well also be doing kitchen decluttering missions, for example. Its not a perfect match with all
missions, but I tried to make it correspond as much as possible.

Why Does It Take A Whole Year?

Why does my challenge and missions take a full year? Well, thats a good question. I like quick results.
We all do. But after working on my own home for years, I just dont think it is realistic for deep down
fundamental change to happen overnight.

First, most of us dont have loads of time to invest in organizing and decluttering. In fact, the busyness
of our lives is one of the things thats contributed to many of our disorganized frazzled lives (or it has
for me anyway). So, being more realistic with the amount of time we can invest to make a change is
important.

Second, even if we got the magic elves to come in and completely organize and declutter our homes

tonight as we slept, there is a real possibility that all that organization would just descend back down
into chaos again quickly, and the clutter would just pile back up. That reality stinks, but its true.

The reason for this is that while you can make a big organizational or decluttering push, it is the little

actions you take, every single day, either positive or negative, which ultimately impact whether you feel
like your life and home is organized and under control, or not. Its all a matter of habits. So another
reason to go slow is to allow you to create new habits for yourself and your home so once it gets
organized it stays that way!

Whats New In 2015 For This Challenge & Missions?

Ive been running this challenge for several years now. In fact, 2015 is the fourth year, and I try to

improve it each year. Some people have been following along this whole time, with the first year being the
big organizational push, and then just maintaining, and improving things in subsequent years.
2 New Challenges
I do listen to your feedback, and for 2015 I combined a couple of challenges and added two more that I
saw a need for. That means its still 52 weeks long, but better than ever.

I combined the organizing china and silver challenges to be one week, and also the organizing holiday
decorations and wrapping supplies challenges into another week. This made room for two new

challenges, the first of which is about emergency preparedness and home safety, which are both such

important topics. The other new challenge focuses on email and digital information organization. We live

in a technological world, so this addition is going to really help us keep not just physical space, but digital
space from being overwhelming to us as well.
Declutter 365 Facebook Group
I also listened when some people (but not all) wanted daily reminders of the decluttering missions.
Already, at the bottom of each Mondays email I list the daily missions for the week (and this will

continue). However, many asked for a daily email. Uggghh. I think wed all soon not want that, since one
goal this year is to reduce email inbox clutter, so I came up with a different solution.

Ive created a Facebook group called Declutter 365 that is free to join. In it I will post the daily

decluttering mission each morning, and perhaps some additional helpful decluttering or organizational
articles or inspirational pictures. This is an optional group, and for the past three years people have

participated without it, but for those who want it I think it could be a great thing. My hope for the group

is that it keeps us focused on following the 2015 declutter calendar youre receiving right now each day,
because I believe that decluttering really needs to be a life long daily habit.

What Should I Do Now?

Youve decided to embark on a journey toward a more organized and clutter free home. Congratulations.
2015 can be your year to finally get organized! So, heres what you need to do next:

1. Print (or save onto your computer if you dont want the paper clutter) this schedule and 2015

calendar so youve got a plan to follow. The weekly emails, and Facebook group if you choose to join,

will provide gentle reminders, but being able to reference an overall plan and see where were headed is
invaluable so keep the plan visible, if possible. Many successful participants told me they posted the
calendars and schedule on their refrigerator so they could see it all the time and be reminded.

2. Make sure you can get each weeks emails by marking the email youve received to get this PDF as
trusted, or white listed, or not spam, or whatever your email system calls it that ensures you are
delivered the emails you want in your inbox.

3. Choose whether you want to join the Declutter 365 Facebook Group to get a notification of each

days declutter mission, and interact with other participants in the Challenge for encouragement and

support. Make sure to turn on notifications to the group, if theyre not already, since this is the best
way to ensure youll actually see what is posted each day.

4. Stay in touch with me! I really do want to hear how its going, your feedback and ideas. So heres
where you can find me. The official hashtag for the decluttering missions is #Declutter365.
