Bay Area students travel to
developing countries to build

"Wow, I don't know where to begin…Who ever thought that a girl who lives in the
hood would ever get out: physically and mentally." - Nayda Peace
I used to believe that every turn would lead me into a darker alley rather
than an open door. Today, I am confident that change is possible if we all
contribute a piece to the puzzle. – Betty Kwan

Since 2005, 136 Bay Area students have helped build 11 schools!
Student Voices
“Personally, I have been a member of both the Lead Team, the Youth Advisory
Council and over the summer will be participating in the trek for knowledge
program. These programs have changed my life, made me a more diligent person
and the life lessons I have learned in these programs will inspire me wherever I go.”

“buildOn is the best club ever ever ever! I believe that every school in America
should be involved in buildOn. All I can say is please expand!”

“buildOn has helped build character, integrity and honesty in the individuals that have
participated in its many programs. It has been a great organization and truly lives by
its very own motto and does indeed change lives for good.”

“It’s a great place. It feels sort of like a family. We all work together and try to help
others. The services are super awesome and it feels really good to be productive and
actually become involved in our community. Too much is happening in this world for
so many people to be indifferent couch potatoes!”

“Trek for knowledge was the best experience of my life!”
