The EX3200 switches offer an integrated routing engine that runs the same modular Junos operating system as other Juniper
switches, routers and security products, ensuring a consistent implementation and operation of each control plane feature
across an entire Juniper infrastructure. A purpose-built packet-forwarding engine ASIC, the EX-PFE, consistently delivers
wire-rate forwarding even with all control-plane features enabled. Based on existing field-proven Juniper technology, the EXPFE and Routing Engine bring the same level of carrier-class performance and reliability to the EX3200 switches that Juniper
routers bring to the worlds largest networks.

J-Brief
High-availability features in a compact, 1RU form factor
- Field-replaceable power supply and fan tray dramatically reduce meantime to
repair (MTTR)
Resilient, modular Junos OS architecture separates control and forwarding
planes; each software feature runs in protected memory, and Graceful
Protocol Restart prevents a system reboot to recover from a single feature
failure
Complements existing Juniper product portfolio
- Adds high-performance switching to the Juniper routing, security and
application acceleration product portfolio
- Fully integrated with Juniper Unified Access Control (UAC) solution to deliver
identity-based authentication and enforce port-level Layer 2-4 security and
QoS policies
Support converged data, voice and video environments
- Full and partial PoE options satisfy both high- and low-density IP telephony,
WLAN and security camera requirements
- All PoE ports receive full 15.4 watts of Class 3 PoE, eliminating power provisioning restrictions
- Eight class of service (CoS) queues per port allow for separate prioritization policies for control plane, voice, video conferencing, video surveillance and multiple levels of
data traffic

Cost of Ownership: Consistent Junos OS across Juniper switches, routers and security products eliminates the need to support multiple
software releases across the network, lowering costs and speeding roll out of new features throughout the network.
Carrier-class Reliability: A combination of time-tested, field-proven hardware and software features ensures continuous operation and
carrier-class reliability.
Scalability: Flexible GbE-to-10GbE uplink modules, full and partial PoE options, and a scalable packet-forwarding engine based on ASIC
expertise developed for Juniper routers enable the EX3200 switches meet the needs of large-scale networks.
Security: The Junos software is a hardened OS that separates control, forwarding and services planes, with each function running in
protected memory. The control-plane CPU is protected via rate limiting and ACLs, ensuring continuous operation even under severe attack.
Integration with Juniper UAC solution provides both standards-based 802.1X port-level access control and Layer 2-4 policy enforcement
based on user identity, device and location.
