How to Make an Amigurumi Robot

Materials

Medium weight grey yarn

for robots body
Medium weight darker
color yarn
Size 4 mm crochet hook
Fiber filling
Yarn needle
Safety craft eyes

Instructions
Head
The head is made in six pieces and then sewn together in a cube shape. Make each of the six
pieces separately first, then sew them together later.
Large Head Piece (make 4)
Make a slip knot with grey color yarn and make nine chain stitches.
Row 1 - Make a single crochet stitch in the second chain from the hook and each stitch across.
8 stitches total.
Row 2 - Make a chain stitch to turn in the opposite direction. Make a single crochet in each
stitch across. 8 stitches total.
Row 3-6 - Repeat row 2. At the end of row six tie off yarn.
Small Head Piece (make 2)
Make a slip knot and make seven chain stitches to begin.
Row 1 - Make a single crochet stitch in the second chain from the hook and each stitch across.
6 stitches in total.
Row 2 - Make a chain stitch to begin the row. Make a single crochet in each stitch across. 6
stitches total.
Row 3-6 - Repeat round 2. At the end of round 2 tie off the yarn.

Body
Make a slip knot in the yarn and make a 6 chain loop.
Round 1 - Make two single crochet stitches in each stitch around. 12 stitches total.
Round 2 - Make a single crochet in the first stitch and two in the next. Repeat all the way
around. 18 stitches total.
Round 3 - Make a single crochet in each stitch around. 18 stitches total.
Round 4 - Make a single crochet in each stitch around working only in the back loops. 18
stitches total.
Round 5 - Make a single crochet in each stitch around. 18 stitches total.
Round 6-14 - Repeat round 5.
Round 15 - Make a single crochet in each stitch around working in the back loops only. 18
stitches total. This will begin to form the neck of the robot. Begin stuffing the robots body.
Round 16 - Make a single crochet in every other stitch around. 9 stitches total. Finish stuffing
the robots body.
Round 17 - Make a single crochet in each stitch around. 9 stitches total. Tie off yarn and leave
a long tail for sewing.
Arms (make 2)
Make a slip stitch and seven chain stitches.
Row 1 - Make a single crochet in the second chain and each chain across. 6 stitches total. Tie
off yarn and leave a long tail for sewing.
Legs (make 2)
Make a slip knot and a chain 6 loop.
Round 1 - Make two chain stitches in each stitch around. 12 stitches total.
Round 2 - Make one single crochet stitch in each stitch around. 12 stitches total. Tie off yarn
and leave a long tail for sewing.

Assembly
1. Sew the pieces of the head together to form a cube using the darker yarn. Attach the eyes
and sew on a mouth with the dark yarn. Stuff the head and finish sewing the head together. Sew
two pieces of yarn to the top of the head as the robots antennas.
2. Sew a square on the front of the body with the darker yarn to make a control panel. Sew the
arms to the side of the body and legs to the front.
3. Sew the head on to the top of the bodys neck.
4. Cut all tails and weave in the ends.
