1. PURPOSE:
THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROCEDURE IS TO.
Provide uniform predetermined, well methodology for Execution of light
weight block masonry work.
Establish a guide line for record keeping.
Minimize the errors.
Control of non-conformance.

2. SCOPE:
The scope involved the various activities such as
Checking of the material, laying, joining, Curing related to light weight block
work,
This procedure has been established which subject to revision is depending
on its requirement.

3. REFERENCE DOCUMENTS

Method statement, CPWD specification.

IS 6072
AFC Drawings.

4. DETAIL ACTION PLAN:

Prior to start the work strength & density to be checked in MTC given by
manufacturer.
Using factory made dry mortar made from combination of cement, gardened
sand and chemical additives, like FIXOBLOCK from Ultratech or equivalent as
per Engineer-in-charge recommendations.
The standard sizes of the blocks are (600MM X 200MM & 600MM X 200MM),
while using the Light weight blocks it has to be soaked in water sufficiently to
wet the blocks, proper soaking of blocks shall prevent the suction of chemical
additive as per manufacturer specifications and recommendations.

Light weight blocks should be placed on chemical additive bed true to its line
plumb in ENGLISH/FLEMISH bond. Joint of (20MM) blocks should be staggered
and all the joints should be filled with chemical additive properly. Any gap
between the finished block work and Offices roof slab/beam shall be suitably
scaled with chemical additive.
In case of brick of half brick thickness, walls shall be reinforced with 2 nos.
6MM dia steel bars placed at every third course with chemical additive.
Curing shall be done after 24 Hrs. of completion of days work and shall be
done for a period of 7 days. All fixtures, pipes, conduits, Holdfasts of doors
and windows etc., required to be built in walls has to be embedded properly.
