41 The driver of a car, travelling with a speed of v, suddenly sees a board obstacle ahead of him at a distance
d. Is it better for him to brake or turn sharply in a circle?
42 A bomb of mass 50 kg moving uniformly with a velocity of 10ms -1 explodes spontaneously into two
fragements of mass 40 kg and 10kg. Calculate the velocity of the smaller fragement, given that velocity of
the larger fragement is zero.
43 A goods train has 25 wagons, each of the same mass. Decides, with the help of calculations, whether the
tension in the coupling between the fourth and fifth wagon would be the same or not to that between 21 st and
22nd wagon. Neglect the mass of coupling.
44 A block of mass 1kg fall freely on a spring from a height of 20 cm. Find the compression in the spring if
its force constant is 103N/m. Take g = 9.8 SI.
45 A coin is placed at the distance of 10cm from the axis of a rotating horizontal disc. The axis of rotation

cm. With what angular speed should this disc be rotated so that the coin is on the verge of getting dislodged
from the disc? The co-efficient of friction between the coin and the surface of the disc is 0.25.

rad/sec in 5 seconds. Calculate the torque acting on this ring in M.K.S.
