1.0 Description

TheFocusIrisunitisasinglechannelwirelesscontrol.Itcanbeusedtocontroleither
thefocusoririschannelofanMDR2,wirelessV+FLensControl,orRadioDimmer.The
switchlocatednearthetopofthecontrolselectsbetweenthefocusandirisfunction.

AnFM50typeLiIonBattery(11)powersboththeRadiomodule.Toremovethebattery,
slidetheBatteryRelease(12)towardstherearofthemodulewhilepushingthebattery
downwards.

Theomnidirectionalantennaelement(1)ishousedwithinaruggedcoverthatprotects
itagainstimpact.ThetricolorLED(4)indicatesthestrengthofthereceivedsignals:

Red Minimum

(off) SignalStrengthtoolow.
MoveclosertoMDR3forreliableoperation.

Thereare30wirelesschannelsavailablenumberedfrom029.Thesecorrespondto
thechannelsontheMDR3,MDR2,orV+FLensContro.Thechannelisraisedorlowered
bypressingthepairofbuttons(7)totherightofthechannelindicator(6).

2.0 Operation

1. InstallachargedLiIonbattery
2. SetuptheMotorDriver.Applypower.Notethechannelsetting.Ifthedevice
beingcontrolledisaVideoLensControlorRadioDimmer,setthemodetoeither
FocusorIris,sothatitcanbecontrolledbytheFocusIrisunit.
3. PressthePOWERbutton(5)momentarily.ThepowerLEDjustabovetheswitch
willlight.
4. Usethepushbuttonswitches(7)tomatchthechannelasshowninthedisplay
(6)tothechannelofthereceivingunit.
5. Selectthedesiredmodefocusoriris:

IfanMDR3orMDR2isbeingcontrolled,theModeswitch
determineswhichmotor(focusoriris)willrespondtothecontrol
knob.
IfaVideoLenscontrolisbeingused,theModesettingofboth
unitsmustmatch(focusoriris).

6. WhentheFocusIrisunitestablishescommunicationwiththeMotorDriver,the
LINKLED(4)willglow.Thecolorwillindicatethesignalstrengthasdescribedin
theprevioussection.
7. TheControlKnob(15)willnowcontroleitherthemotororLEDlight.
8. TheCameraRunLEDlocatedabovetheR/SSwitch(3)indicatesthecamera
status.
9. TosetLensLimits:
a. UsetheControlKnobtomovethelenstooneendofthedesiredrange.
b. WhilepressingtheSETBUTTON(9),turntheControlKnobuntilthelens
reachestheotherendofthedesiredrange.
c. ReleasetheSETBUTTON.
d. Theendlimitsoflensrotationareindicatedbythesolidglowingbars.
Themovingbarshowsthecurrentlensposition.
e. ThelimitscanberemovedbypressingtheRESETbuttonmomentarily.
