Summary Analysis of Heart Dataset

Write a one page summary of your analysis. Include the mean, median and mode for each
variable. Explain if the variable is positively skewed, negatively skewed or symmetric. Did
sorting by sex change these results?
This summary analysis of the Heart dataset depicts the sex, height, and weight of a population
N= 5209 which is made up of 55.15% female and 44.85% male. The height variable for N=5203
(male and female) had a mean of 64.81, a median of 64.50, and a mode of 62.50. The standard
deviation was 3.58 while the skewness was 0.1774. The weight variable for the same population
had a Mean, Median, Mode, and Standard Deviation of 153.08, 150.00, 138.00, and 28.9154,
respectively. There were 6 missing values.
The dataset was sorted by sex and the height and weight were analyzed again. The table shows
the resulting Mean, Median, Mode, and Standard Deviation for the height and weight of
population and the sampling of the males and females. Though the standard deviation for the
sorted male and female height samples varied minimally, they were 76% and 68%, respectively,
of the population. The weight variable for the sorted sample displayed a smaller variance by
being within 87% and 91% of the population.

The values for both the population variables height and weight were positively skewed and so
were the values for the sorted weights for male and female. The values for the sorted sample for
height were negatively skewed.
The females median and mode values for both height and weight were the same and were less
than the unsorted population. Their modes did not varied from the entire population. The mean,
median, and mode for the males were greater than the population.
