Christ our Hiding Place

Col 3:1-3
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the
right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
KJV
In Christ we have a hiding place.
1... David said in (Ps 27:4-6) that One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after;
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the
LORD, and to inquire in his temple. In (Vs5) he said, For in the time of trouble he shall hide me
in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
In (Vs6) we find, And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me:
therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto
the LORD. (When we think about our hiding place it makes us joyful, it makes us to want to sing
praises unto the Lord).
2... Note (Vs6) For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his
tabernacle shall he hide me.
The Truth Is:
1... The truth is, we spend way too much time worrying about what the Devil is going to do next.
The truth is, in order for the Devil to get me, he has first got to find me. (I am hid in Christ).
2... In (Job 2:1-3) we find that when the sons of God came to present themselves before the
LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. In (Vs2) we find
that the Lord said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and
said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. In (Vs3) we find
something very interesting; And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant
Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God,
and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him,
to destroy him without cause.
3... You see up till this time Job was hid in Christ.
4... Not only are we hid in Christ, as Christians we have the promises of God. That no weapon
formed again us shall prosper. In the remainder part of this message I want to focus on why the
devil can't get me.
The Devil can't get me because he can't overthrow the promises of God:
1... (Joshua 21:45) tells us, Not one of the good promises which the Lord had made to the
house of Israel failed; all came to pass. This is the basis of your confidence that He will keep
His promises.
2... According to (James 4:7) it says if we Submit ourselves to God, and Resist the devil, he will
flee from you. (The promise is, if we submit and resist, the Devil will flee).
3... According to (Rom 16:20) we find that the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet
shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

4... According to (1 John 4:4) we find; Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:
because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
The Devil can't get me because he can't resurrect the dead:
1...On Dec.10.1977 I died to sin. As (Col.3:3) for I am dead and hid in Christ.
2... In (Rom 8:36) we find that it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are
accounted as sheep for the slaughter. As Paul said, I die daily.
3... In (Rom 8:37) we find that, Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him
that loved us.
The Devil can't get me because of the seal of God:
1... In (Eph 1:13-14) we find, In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the
gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit
of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased
possession, unto the praise of his glory.
2... (Eph 4:30) tells us, And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the
day of redemption.
3... (2 Tim 2:19) tell us the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth
them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
The Devil can't get me because he can't overthrow the angels:
1... In (Ps 91:10-12) we find, There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh
thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They
shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
2... The Bible says that the angels of the Lord are encamped about those who fear him.
The Devil can't get me because of the blood:
1... In (Ex 12:13) we find, And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye
are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to
destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
2... In (Eph 1:7) we find we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,
according to the riches of his grace;
3... (1 John 1:7) tells us, if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with
another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (You see the devil cannot
cross over the blood, if he did he would be a saved devil).
