Operation
The oil reservoir (1), screen (2), pump (3), solenoid valve (4), and main relief valve (5) are all contained in the same component as part of the pump group.
Secondary relief valve (6) is mounted to the inside of the platform group. Manual release valve (7) is mounted to the inside of the platform group and connected to
a push button that is mounted onto the handrail assembly.
The button for the emergency lower is connected to manual release valve (7). When the emergency lower button is depressed, manual release valve opens and
releases the pressure in the system back to reservoir (1). Triggering the emergency lower button will lower the stairway in approximately 3 seconds.

(8) Cylinder
When the raise stairway button has been activated, pump (3) begins to pull oil from oil reservoir (1). The oil is pumped to the head end of cylinder (8). Cylinder (8)
begins to extend which pushes a crank that is splined to a shaft. The shaft is splined onto two hubs that bolt to the stairway. As cylinder (8) extends, the stairway
begins to raise.
A limit switch is located in the platform group. When the stairway has been raised, the crank on the shaft triggers the limit switch to stop the stairway from raising.

(8) Cylinder
When the lower stairway button has been activated, pump (3) begins to pull oil from oil reservoir (1). The oil is pumped to the rod end of cylinder (8). Cylinder (8)
begins to retract which pulls a crank that is splined to a shaft. The shaft is splined onto two hubs that bolt to the stairway. As cylinder (8) retracts, the stairway
begins to lower.
A limit switch is located in the platform group. When the stairway has been lowered, the crank on the shaft triggers the limit switch to stop the stairway from
lowering.
