Corporate strategy:
The overall scope and direction of a corporation and the way in which its various business
operations work together to achieve particular goals.

History of University of central Punjab Gujranwala:

The management of Punjab Group of Colleges established its first campus in Gujranwala in
1997. Since then, the college campuses are increasing in number since then; the Colleges are
increasing in number.
And later Punjab College management opened University of central Punjab sub campus in
Gujranwala to provide the quality education at the door steps of Gujranwala peoples.

Corporate Strategy of University of Central Punjab Gujranwala:

The corporate strategy of top management clear that they want to make this institution as the
home of quality education by offering many new programs in the near future, by launching new
projects like law college, more branches of Allied school in Gujranwala.
The management wants to see its institution at the top position in the area. The branches and new
campus will be increase as the requirement of students.
Functional strategy:
Organizational plan for human resources, marketing, research and development and
other functional areas. The functional strategy of a company is customized to a
specific industry and is used to back up other corporate and business strategies.
Operational strategy:
A plan of action implemented by a firm that describes how they will employ their resources in
the production of a product or service. An operational strategy is a necessary element for
a business and supports the firm's corporate strategy.

How corporate strategy is being implementing through functional and operational level:
The top management level provide guidelines and directions to the functional level for the future
plans and goals. where they want to see the organization in coming years.
For example if the top management level wants the good results of Punjab college or maintain
the top positions in the boards and universities so they give directions to functional level.
Functional level management after getting the directions from corporate level they start to make
strategies and plans and forward these plans to operational level to implement.
For example the Dean got the directions from the Director of Punjab college to improve the
education standards in Punjab college ,so the Dean will call a meeting of operational level
employees like the teachers and other staff and discuss with them and provide guidelines to them
to improve the education standards.
Suggestions:
The top management should provide incentives or bonuses to the functional or operational level
on their achievements to encourage them.
Should provide them a friendly environment.
Develop advance strategies and plans to compete with competitors.
