The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh is a non-political and non-profit research organization. A
premier learned body committed to generation and dissemination of knowledge in the
country, the Asiatic Society is managed by a 17-member Council elected by general
members. This Council is the apex body of the Society. The tenure of the Council is two
years. The President guides the Society and its Council in accordance with the provisions of
the Society's Constitution. The General Secretary is the executive head of the Society. Policy
matters are decided by the Council. There are several standing committees to help the
Council implement its policies. The Council normally meets once a month. The office bearers
and members of the Council work on honourary basis

Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD), Comilla is internationally acclaimed
for its many innovative works in the field of rural development in Bangladesh. The Comilla
Approach to Rural Development , which is, in fact, a package of mutually supportive
development models produced lasting impacts on changing the lives and living environment
of the rural poor. BARD celebrated its Golden Jubilee on 27 May 2009. The 54 year's
experiences in the arenas of training, research and action research could be shared by all
countries and people engaged in rural development

Bangladesh Bureau of Educational Information & Statistics (BANBEIS) is a central
depository of Bangladesh government for the collection, dissemination and provider to all
stakeholders. It started its activities as an attached department of Ministry of Education. It's
function to collect, compile and disseminate all kinds of information and statistics relating to
post primary stages of education in Bangladesh. To act as the Apex body for Educational
Management Information System and to develop, update & maintain computerized database
including Institutional and Teacher's database for all levels and types of Education
Institutions at the post primary level. To conduct survey of all types of educational
institutions for different indicators and prepare & publish reports thereof. To develop and
maintain other databases as required by the ministry of education.

The Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS) is an independent, non-profit, nongovernment, policy, research and implementation institute working on Sustainable
Development (SD) at local, national, regional and global levels. It was established in 1986
and over 25 years and has grown to become a leading research institute in the nongovernment sector in Bangladesh and South Asia. BCAS encourages multidisciplinary and
interdisciplinary in its approaches of running programs and projects by working under four
broad themes, Environment-development integration, Good governance and peoples
participation, Poverty alleviation and sustainable livelihoods, Economic growth and publicprivate partnership. BCAS has over hundred full-time and some part-time staff working in
different capacities, with a large group of senior professionals and scientists, and many midlevel professionals and researchers.

Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) is a statutory and
autonomous institution established on 25 June, 1978 by the Government of the Peoples
Republic of Bangladesh. The Institute was established with aim of the undertaking and
promoting research and deliberation on international affairs, security and developmental
issues. The Institute is also expected to advance knowledge and understanding of
contemporary international and strategic issues in national and regional perspectives.

The Bangladesh Unnayan Gobeshona Protishthan or The Bangladesh Institute of
Development Studies (BIDS) is an autonomous public multi-disciplinary organization which
conducts policy oriented research on development issues facing Bangladesh and other
developing countries. The mission is to facilitate learning in development solutions by
conducting credible research, fostering policy dialogue, disseminating policy options, and
developing coalitions to promote informed policy making. The Institute also conducts
training on research methodologies and carries out evaluation of development interventions.
In that pursuit, BIDS is involved in collection and generation of socio-economic data for
carrying out analytical and policy loaded research on current economic and social issues and
dissemination of research findings and knowledge on developmental concerns to support
policy formulation. BIDS researchers also contribute directly to formulation of government
policies through their interactions and participation in the policy making process.

Bureau of Business Research.


Established as a specialized business research organization in 1974, the Bureau of Business
Research (BBR) at the Faculty of Business Studies has emerged as a pioneer institution for
research in the areas of industry, trade and commerce. The BBR aims at promoting research
in business areas, undertaking research projects sponsored by the Government and other
private sector agencies, encouraging cross-fertilization of ideas and knowledge among the
business community. business educators and researchers of Bangladesh and abroad through
seminars, symposia and conferences, assisting organizations through providing management
consulting services, organizing training courses on research methodology as well as business
areas etc

Bureau of Economic Research.


The Bureau of Economic Research (BER) was established in the year 1956 as a research
organization of the University of Dhaka. The Bureau continues its research activities in the
field of economics and related subjects and aims at finding solutions to many practical
problems which will help in policy making in national development. BER does not have
Faculty Members of its own, it is managed by a Managing Committee consisting of teachers
of the University and experts from Planning Commission,

The Bangladesh Development Research Center (BDRC)


The Bangladesh Development Research Center (BDRC is an independent, non-partisan,
non-profit research organization, run by volunteers. BDRC is a non-profit research
organization, incorporated with the specific purpose to undertake and disseminate research
on development issues relevant for Bangladesh in order to foster the peaceful development of
nations.
The BDRC has been founded in January 2007, by Dr. Bernhard G. Gunter, after more than
15 years of research and/or development work at various universities and international
organizations (including the
African Development Bank, the International Labor
Organization, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the
