November 18th 19th, 2014

Beijing, China

Industry Background
Along with the promulgation of the <Medium and Long-term Development
Plan for Civil Aviation Industry (2013-2020)>, R&D, manufacture and delivery
of the C919 Trunk liner, the industrialization of ARJ21 turbofan regional jet, MA
series turboprop regional jet as well as research and development of the large
aircraft engine were designated as development goals and direction leading
China's aviation manufacturing industry to the new era.
With the vigorous development of China's aviation manufacturing industry,
aeronautical materials and material processing equipment demand is growing

Organized by

fast. Statistics show, in the next 10 years, China's aviation materials market and
the related processing equipment overall market scale will reach 120 billion Yuan.
By 2020, the Chinese civil aircraft industry revenue will exceed 100 billion Yuan.
Under this background, official organized by China Society of Aeronautics
and Astronautics, hosted by Galleon (Shanghai) Consulting Co., Ltd., the
2nd annual China Aeronautical Materials and Process Summit will be held in
Beijing, during Nov. 18th - 19th, 2014.

2nd Annual China Aeronautical Materials and Process Summit

Focus on materials development trends and growing demands in China Aviation Market

November 18th 19th, 2014

Beijing, China

Chinas Aero engine Industry Background

Prospective Chinese jet engine makers are driven by ranges of strategic and economic motivations.
China has listed the development of civil aircraft engine as one of China s 18th major development plan in the country s 12th five year program.
In civil application, the continuously rising fuel prices expected to drag airline profit margins down to razor thin levels. Therefore, modern aero-engine has to fulfill
extreme requirements concerning reliability, minimum weight, high performance, economy and long durability. Those factors are limited by the temperature capacity
of materials available.
As such, materials used in engine core and process technologies pose a more significant potential bottleneck for aero engine production in China than other factors.
In earlier 2013, China's Centre Government announced that will invest 100 billion RMB in supporting AVIC Group's aggressive plan up to 2018 to produce first
Chinas high bypass turbofan engine, CJ1000A for C919 aircraft.
We are likely to see the breaking through on technology of aero engine materials and processing
method soon.
But, only aero engine materials and process technologies involve exceedingly complex supply chain,
and Chinas engine industry will face significant challenges in creating a sufficiently large and flexible
supplier base.
So, how China will address those issues in its aero engine development remains an open question.

Work & product breakdown is the basis of collaborative management control in R&D and manufacturing process
