The car manufacturing process can be divided into 3 main stages.

1. Development
Developing refined product through innovation, progress and teamwork focused on the
future. The development division constantly seeks to manufacture new cars by developing next
generation technology and responding sensitive to ever-changing environment and lifestyle
trends.
Planning utilizing free thinking and ability of young employees to create future
vision and reviewing for car design and concepts.
Visual Design highly refined exterior and interior design, accurate three
dimensional images
Technical Design resolves technical issues and creates drawings for each part.
Testing and Evaluation manufacture highly accurate prototypes cars and
confirm completeness. Evaluation of performance through simulations and
experiments
2. Production Technology

Support technology which creates products within manufacturing processes. Seek

quality and efficiency. High-level production technology is essential to realizing highquality car manufacturing.
Productivity Review simulates warping in pressed products and create
molds. Simulate the movement of resin within dies; review quality and
productivity.

3. Production
Technological capability or craftsmanship is highly recognized by expert international
institution.
Pressing steel sheets are processed in a pressing machine. a variety of
large and small automotive parts are created in rapid succession.
Body steel sheet components which have undergone press processing
are welded and the framework of highly-accurate automobile body is
created.
Painting several layers of paint are applied to the assembled body. The
body is given a lustrous and beautiful finish.
Resin molding using injection molding equipment, the bumper,
instrument panel, etc., are created from resin.
Assembly once painting has been finished for the body, several thousand
parts are attached including interior components instruments, electrical
wiring, the engine and tires. A finished car which can be driven is

completed.
Inspection each completed car is subject to a rigorous and multifaceted
inspection for parts such as breaks, headlights and emissions. The cars
are then shipped as completed vehicles with outstanding quality.

CHEVRON U.S.A.
Company Profile

History

Chevron U.S.A. wears its name like a badge of honor. The company, the major
US subsidiary of global oil and gas giant Chevron, oversees most of its parent's US
businesses. Its portfolio includes oil and gas exploration, production, and refining

assets. It is also one of North America's leading marketers of refined petroleum products
(including diesel, gas, and motor oil). Chevron U.S.A operates a network of Chevron
and Texaco gas stations across the US. Chevron U.S.A's industrial customers purchase
base and process oils as well as fuel and lubricant additives.
Headquartered in San Ramon, California, Chevron Corporation is the secondlargest integrated energy company in the United States. We produce crude oil, natural
gas and many other essential products.
Through our business and social investments, we boost local economies where we
operate by creating jobs, improving livelihoods and supporting local businesses.
Our products are sold in more than 8,000 Chevron and Texaco retail stations in the
United States. We are a major supplier of aviation fuel in the United States.
Chevrons five U.S. refineries have the combined capacity to process approximately
955,000 barrels of oil per day.

Here are some other highlights of our U.S. operations:

Chevron was one of the largest hydrocarbon producers in the United States in
2013.

In 2013, Chevron again ranked No. 1 in net oil-equivalent production in

California.

We are a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of lubricant and fuel oil
additives.

In 2014, we plan to start up our new base oil plant at our Pascagoula,
Mississippi, refinery, making Chevron the worlds largest premium base oil producer.

Our Chevron Shipping Co. managed approximately 2,100 deep-sea tanker

voyages in 2013.

Through our 50 percent ownership of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC

and its affiliates, were one of the worlds leading producers of chemicals and plastics.
Providing Energy for Human Progress
Chevron is one of the worlds leading integrated energy companies. Our success
is driven by our people and their commitment to get results the right wayby operating
responsibly, executing with excellence, applying innovative technologies and capturing
new opportunities for profitable growth. We are involved in virtually every facet of the
energy industry. We explore for, produce and transport crude oil and natural gas; refine,
market and distribute transportation fuels and lubricants; manufacture and sell
petrochemical products; generate power and produce geothermal energy; provide
renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions; and develop the energy resources of
the future, including research into advanced biofuels.
Company Roots
We trace our beginnings to an 1879 oil discovery at Pico Canyon, north of Los
Angeles, which led to the formation of the Pacific Coast Oil Co. That company later
became Standard Oil Co. of California and, subsequently, Chevron. We took on the

name Chevron when we acquired Gulf Oil Corporation in 1984, which nearly doubled
our worldwide proved crude oil and natural gas reserves. Our merger with Gulf was then
the largest in U.S. history.
Another major branch of the family tree is The Texas Fuel Company, formed in
Beaumont, Texas, in 1901. It later became known as The Texas Company and,
eventually, Texaco. In 2001, our two companies merged. The acquisition of Unocal
Corporation in 2005 strengthened Chevrons position as an energy industry leader,
increasing our crude oil and natural gas assets around the world.
Global Scope
Our diverse and highly skilled global workforce consists of approximately 64,500
employees, including more than 3,200 service station employees.
In 2013, Chevrons average net production was nearly 2.6 million oil-equivalent
barrels per day. About 75 percent of that production occurred outside the United States.
Chevron had a global refining capacity of 1.96 million barrels of oil per day at the end of
2013.
Our marketing network supports retail outlets on five continents.
Technology and Emerging Energy
We focus on technologies that improve our ability to find, develop and produce
crude oil and natural gas from conventional and unconventional resources.

We also invest in the development of emerging energy technologies, such as

finding better ways to make nonfood-based biofuels, piloting advanced solar technology
for our operations and expanding our renewable energy resources.
Environment and Safety
As a company and as individuals, we take great pride in contributing to the
communities where we live and work.
We also care about the environment and are proud of the many ways in which
our employees work to safeguard it.
Our persistent efforts to improve on our safe work environment continue to pay
off. In 2013, we achieved world-class performance in the days-away-from-work metric
for both Upstream and Downstream operations.
Our Work
We recognize that the world needs all the energy we can develop, in every
potential form. Thats why our employees work to responsibly develop the affordable,
reliable energy the world needs.

At Chevron, the businesses work in concert to provide the energy that drives
human progress. Explore Chevrons companies to learn how we use our global
resources, determination and ingenuity to meet todays complex energy challenges.
