RECYCLED!
Solar Hot Water/Heating Thermal Energy Capture Tubes...gently
used by Uncle Sam!
These are the evacuated vacuum thermal Solar collector tubes. 46
inches long, by 2.0 inches diameter. Water flows in the
central tube and collector space surrounded by two outer tubes
with a vacuum between them. The water gets so hot that it will boil
, so water must be kept moving by a circulation pump. Maximum
temperature is about 250 degrees F. Hot enough to heat your home
with a hydronic radiator system, or heat your domestic hot water.
Each tube captures approximately 80-150 watts or
300-450 BTU/HR.
Works even in the coldest climates!

These cost Uncle Sam $250.00 per tube new.

We are selling them for $40.00 per tube. These are for Do It
Yourself types wanting to save big on Solar.
Just the tubes only, in used, working condition.
They mount on 4 inch centers and are 2.0 inches OD.
They are often combined with multiple tubes as shown in
the array (not offered) pictured below.
Just the Solar Capture tubes are being offered, not
the entire array, so this is offered for do-it-yourselfers,
looking for an inexpensive way to capture a lot of solar energy
to make domestic hot water of heat for the home.
The tubes seal to the manifolds with standard O-rings.
Manifolds are not included.
Manifolds would need to be built by user...not too hard to do,
but not a novice project either.
However, you can just use a standard No 7 or 7.5 two hole lab
rubber stopper and rubber tubing with T connectors surrounded
by cheap thermal foam insulation to make your own inexpensive
manifold.
They are like a 4 foot long thermos bottle with vacuum between two
outer tubes. There is a purple looking Solar energy adsorption
selective coating on the middle tube, so Solar heat energy gets
trapped inside, and cannot escape except VIA the water (or other
working fluid, air if you prefer)flow in and around the center tube.
The max temperature reaches 250F-300 F+ in bright sunlight, and
each tube can boil more than a pound of water per hour, but you
would not want, to let steam actually form, so about 180 F maximum
water delivery temperature (determined by flow rate).
You can also use the hat to desorb ammonia from calcium chloride
salt to make your own Crosly Icy Ball solar powered refrigerator for
off-grid living!
These solar capture tubes were working well, when removed
from a large hot water system in order to add on to an existing
building.
I re-test each tube before shipping.
