SSO login does not work for Avamar 7.0 SP1 and SP2 System Maintenance page
188157
After the Avamar System Maintenance launches from Backup & Recovery Manager, the
single sign-on (SSO) login fails when single sign-on is enabled. System Maintenance SSO
login should complete without prompting for user credentials.
Help search operations are disabled after the first search in iPad mobile
61234
There are several issues resulting from using the Help search feature in the iPad mobile
app.
In iPad mobile, after completing a search in the Help, the following issues might occur:
u
Search results per page is cut from the top grid and is not visible.
Past backup and replication jobs are listed despite request for Today
60484
Past backup and replication jobs are listed despite selecting Today on the dashboard.
After specifying Today on the dashboard for completed backup or replication jobs, all
completed jobs are listed rather than just those completed today.
Start and Restart buttons are disabled for completed and failed Avamar backups
60100
Start, Stop, and Restart buttons are disabled for completed and failed Avamar ondemand backups. The ability to start, stop, and restart backups is available for group
backups only.
Restart works:
u
For on-demand backups (work order ID), if restart is enabled for on-demand backups.
SSO login does not work for Avamar 7.0 SP1 and SP2 System Maintenance page
Release Notes
Sorting fields in Backup & Recovery Manager does not work as expected
59913
Due to a known MongoDB issue where the MongoDB returns results using binary
representation sort order, sorting on fields in the Backup & Recovery Manager does not
list items in the expected order.
You can view the MongoDB issue at https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-105.
After launching online help, Backup & Recovery Manager times out on Google Nexus
57614
While you read the online help, the Backup & Recovery Manager application remains
running in the background on a Google Nexus device. The operating system on the device
terminates the instance of the UI after launching the help. This is often the device
operating system's attempt to protect against battery usage and will occur more
frequently if Power saving mode is enabled. When this occurs, you must log back into the
application.
On Windows 8.1:
1. Launch Internet Explorer 11 and press F12.
2. Select Emulation.
3. Select Mode, and set to 10.
The browser automatically refreshes and opens to the Backup & Recovery Manager
login page.
Data Domain System Summary reports take 24 hours to generate after registration
54277
The Backup & Recoery Manager must run overnight for the rows to be added and the
report to display data.

RELEASE NOTES
Exporting Avamar and Data Domain Capacity and Usage reports results in the
Duplicate headers received from server error
51974
The CSV export for Capacity and Usage reports results in an error on Google Chrome due
to a recent security update in the browser.

Workaround
1. Copy the .keystore from the /root directory of the Avamar server to a local
directory.
2. Open Backup & Recovery Manager and export the certificate by clicking the lock icon
on the browser tab and following the wizard.
3. Copy the ucas cert that was exported and the . (under root directory) of the avamar
server in a single folder.
4. Verify whether or not the certificate already exists in .keystore with the following
command:
Keytool -list --keystore <pathname>.keystore
6. Import:
keytool --list -importcert --trustcacerts -alias ucashostname -file
Exportedcertificate -keystore <pathname>.keystore
7. Replace the .keystore to the Avamar server /root directory and restart
emtomcat:
emwebapp stop, start
8. Log in the Backup & Recovery Manager and launch the Client Manager.
A search for a server's fully qualified domain name returns only the system
49365
This problem has 2 parts:
A search on a servers fully qualified domain name (FQDN) returns the system only.
Results for any matching Events, Alerts, or Activities are not returned.
Workaround
To work around this issue, search for only a portion of the FQDN.
10
RELEASE NOTES
Also, servers are indexed once every 24 hours where as activities, alerts, or events are
indexed as they are processed. If a new server is not listed, the system does not report
the activities, alerts, or events until the server is indexed.
NetWorker Activities start and end times are ahead by one hour
49268
NetWorker policy based backup activities start and end times are one hour ahead of the
actual time.
The times are incorrect after a DST to standard, or standard to DST switch if the
NetWorker server is not restarted.
This also causes a one hour time difference between the overall group lastStart and
lastEnd times and the individual resulting start and end times.
Networker backups that complete within 10 seconds are not displayed on the
Backup & Recovery Manager server
48187
Backups that last for a duration of less than 10 seconds can be missed and not displayed
on the Backup & Recovery Manager server.
MCGUI and Backup & Recovery Manager report differently on Avamar VM image
backups
47108
Backup & Recovery Manager displays the amount of data that has changed since the last
backup, and the amount of new data. This is not equivalent to the New Bytes displayed in
MCGUI, which is Data, Changed x New = New Bytes.
The Backup & Recovery Manager displays an actual representation of the percentage of
deduplicated data.
Switching between Backup & Recovery Manager sections can take a long time and
the browser can appear as though it is failing to respond
Workaround
To work around these issues, update to Internet Explorer 9+, or use a different browser for
the Backup & Recovery Manager.
Backup summary report export for > 100,000 records results in an http error
45422
CSV export for a backup summary report with > 100,000 records results in http error,
status 500.
NetWorker Activities start and end times are ahead by one hour
11
Release Notes
Work around
To work around this issue, limit the reporting time frame to generate fewer results and
avoid the http error.
Backup saveset report takes 30 seconds to load and generates an empty report
45325
The Backup Summary report by saveset takes too long (approximately 30 seconds) to
load data and then results in an empty report.
Work around
To work around this issue, limit the reporting time frame to generate fewer results and
enable accurate reporting.
Daylight Saving Time causes incorrect backup and replication activities duration
45062
Backup and replication duration might be incorrect by one hour if the activity occurs
during the change to, or change from Daylight Saving Time.
Unable to view the Backup or Replication tab while viewing search results
44015
After browsing the search results for one of the following Activities results choices:
u
view backups...
view replications...
Clicking the results for the other choice appear blank.
Note
Closing the search results window, does not correct the problem.
Workaround
1. Click on view results... for a different section, such as Alerts.
2. Click to view the other choice for the Activities search results.
The NetWorker adaptor for Windows installer displays strange characters in the path
43782
The NetWorker adaptor installer inserts [...]ker and / for the path in the setup screens for
long path names. The [...]ker characters represent NetWorker, and / should be \. This
occurs because the field is set to accept a fixed number of characters. Despite the
strange characters, the installation uses the correct path.

replication operation is not registered to the Backup & Recovery Manager server a hyper
link is displayed for the unregistered system. Clicking the hyper link for the unregistered
system results in a blank system details page.
