Lesson 110: What is a Mask?

A Mask shows and hides parts of an Image.
The concept for all types of Masks is the same - Black conceals, White reveals. This means that
the dark area of the Mask will hide the Image, the white area will show the image. Anything in
between will have some sort of transparency based on how dark the Mask is.
If you have seen one of those Graduated Sunglasses that you use for driving, then you
understand the concept of Masks.

Paths are perimeter fences that you define in Photoshop.
And like fences, you can use it to contain stuff in, or attach stuff around it.
You can create Paths using the Pen Tool or the Shape Tool.
Paths are generally used to create Custom Shapes and as Text Containers .
