Key Activities

1. Overlooks the entire recruitment process for NALCO.


2. Identifies sources for recruitment purpose.
3. Interacts with the Industrial Engineering Department to get the number
and discipline for which recruitment is to be done.
4. Gets the required approval from chairman to go ahead for recruitment.
5. Directs team to draft advertisements to be published in national and local
newspapers.
6. Reviews the content of advertisements before it is sent for publishing.
7. Ensures that advertisement is in line with government guidelines.
8. Updates his knowledge regularly on various government guidelines.
9. Forms the selection committee, which conducts the interview process.
10.Facilitates the interview process by providing rules and regulations and
data.
11.Ensures that the documents are verified for the applications received
online.
12.Interacts with the training department to get the training schedule.
13.Ensures that the selected candidates undergo medical test.
14.Directs the selected candidates to the required training center as per the
training schedule.
15.Sends details of candidates for police verification.
16.Reads and understands all terms of the MoU for the HRD Department.
17.Coordinates with different sections/departments to facilitate completion of
targets according to the MoUs.
18.Interacts and maintains relationship with other departments.
19.Analyses the exit interviews to understand various organizational needs
for employees of the organization.
20.Identifies certain speakers who could come and motivate the employees
or provide them some training.
21.Selects the speaker who would be best suited to conduct such a session
and invite him.
22.Nominates employees to attend various seminars related to their jobs held
all over the world.
23.Attends seminars to keep himself updated with current happenings.
24.Facilitates sessions for employees conducted by external speakers from
the industry.
25. Coordinates with the administration to facilitate such sessions.
26.Ensures all logistics are in order for the session to be conducted.
27.Visits various educational institutions to interact with the students on a
particular topic.
28.Keeps track of various conferences being held through websites and
emails.
29.Identifies conferences on topics which are relevant to requirement of
NALCO.
30.Provides justification for the people proposed to attend the
conference/seminar.
31.Gets approval from the CMD for the people proposed.
32.Addresses the public grievances for NALCO.
33.Ensures that all public grievances that come through the website are
addressed in stipulated time.

34.Coordinates with different departments to ensure the grievance related to


that department is handled in the stipulated time period.
35.In case of any delay in grievance redressal, give an interim reply to inform
of the delay.
36.Acts as interface between customer and department where grievance has
been raised.
37.Handles the RTI(Right to Information) by replying to PIO(company
secretary of company).
38.Replies to the CIC( Central Information Commission ) with information
regarding HR.
39.Incase person goes to CIC, answers questions to CIC in presence of
complainant over video conference.
40.Fulfills all statutory requirements related to recruitment.
41.Acts as interface between ISO auditor and department.
42.Drafts counter reply to query and sends to lawyer in case of statutory
requirements.
43.Facilitates the exit interviews.
44.Incase of super annuation, interviews the employee retiring based on exit
interview format.
45.Reviews the reports and then sends to ED.
46.Based on the feedback, provides a roadmap and suggestions to higher
management.
47.Helps external consultants design employee satisfaction survey.
48.Reviews the final survey.
49.Provides data to the consultants and facilitates the process.
50.Drafts the reports from the outcome of the survey.
51.Sends the reports to higher authorities.
52.Based on the reports, provides suggestions to higher management on how
to engage employees.
53.Facilitates the process of appointing people in the ministry on contract.
54.Facilitates Organization Development activities.
55.Has complete knowledge about the rules and regulations to be followed.
56.Ensures that his team has complete knowledge of the rules and
regulations and function within the framework.
57.Adheres to timelines.
58.Acts as a mentor to his team members.

61.Conducts appraisal interviews for subordinates to notify him of the result.

69.Acts as an internal guide for Summer Internship Programme.
70.Reviews performance of summer trainees under him.
71.Provides recommendations to higher management on summer trainees.
72.Suggests improvement in processes which are proposed to the senior
management.

73.Gives talks on subject matter at various forums.


74.Responsible for resource mobilization in the department.

77.Gets various things done for EDs and directors such as pending files.
78.Provides motivation to his subordinates through various team building

recruitment where a long number of hours are to be put in.
