Q: I have installed the printer software and set up the printer on the
network, but the Scan to PC, Scan to Email, and Scan to PDF features do
not work. What should I do?
A : To use the se fe ature s, you m ust have the EPSO N Eve nt Manage r software
installe d. If you do not have the EPSO N Eve nt Manage r installe d, go to the
Drive rs & Downloads page for your product to download and install the
software .

be twe e n the printe r and your com pute r (such as fire wall, virus
prote ction or utilitie s).

3. If you are using a Fire wall application or W indows Fire wall, m ak e a

program e x ce ption in the Fire wall se ttings.

C lick
or Start > Control Panel > Security or Security Center >
Windows Firewall. C lick the Exceptions tab, (or click Change
Settings if you cannot find the Ex ce ptions tab.) C lick the A dd
Program button, se le ct Event Manager from the program list and
click OK. Ne x t confirm that the che ck box for Event Manager is
se le cte d in the Programs and Services list and click OK.
4. Launch the Eve nt Manage r and m ak e sure your Epson product and
scanne r option is se le cte d.

or Start > Programs or A ll Programs > Epson Software >
Event Manager. C lick the Button Settings tab, se t all se ttings to
use EPSON Scan and click Close.
5. C lick
or Start > Control Panel > Scanners and Cameras or
Devices and Printers.
6. R ight-click your product's nam e , the n click Properties.
7. C lick the Events tab.

Try using the Scan to PC , Scan to Em ail, or Scan to PDF fe ature s.
Note: Mak e sure you e nable any software you disable d in ste p 1.
If the ste ps above do not he lp, try e nabling the UDP/TC P ports for EPSO N
Scan (port num be r 1865/3289) and EPSO N Eve nt Manage r (port num be r
2968) on your route r. If you are unsure on how to do this, contact your
route r m anufacture r for instructions.
