H. The Steps of Learning Activities
1. Opening (15 minutes)
Phase 1: Clarifying the purpose and establishing a set
1.1 The teacher reviewing previous material about the proportion.
1.2 The teacher asks some questions about the proportion.
1.3 The teacher presents information about the wide of sea and land.
Then connected with the proportion. (Phase Observing)
1.4 The teacher asks the students to find a proportion between the wide of
sea and land area.
1.5 Teachers insert religious teachings, such as in
http://lautandiciptakanlebihluasdaridaratan.blogspot.com/
1.6 Teachers delivers the learning objectives today.
2. Main Activity (50 minutes)
Phase 2: focusing the discussion
2.1 The teacher presents a simple question related to indirect proportion.
For example: if every day there are 2 students defecate in the
restroom, the water in a small room will be discharged after 1 week.
What if every day there are 4 students who defecate?? (Phase
Observing)
2.2 When the student answers, the teacher then asks if this includes a
proportion?
Phase 3: controlling discussion
2

2.3 The teacher continued to collect the reasons of the answers that the
student posed.
2.4 When there is a discussion, the students were allowed to ask
questions relating to or in analogy to the problem set by the teacher.
Then the question is discussed together. (Phase Asking)
2.5 When they have done with the discussion, the teacher write down
some examples of indirect proportion into group A and some
examples of direct proportion to group B.
2.6 The teacher asks the students to observe the two groups, then each
student gives one example in each group. (Phase Associating and
Experimenting)
Phase 4 : finishing the discussion
2.7 The teacher asks the students to mention the differences and
characteristics of the examples that exist in groups A and B. The
teacher then informs that proportion in group A is indirect proportion,
and in group B is direct proportion
2.8 The teacher asks the students to work on worksheets.
3. Closing (15 minutes)
Phase 5 : Debriefing
3.1 Teachers do a debriefing with the question, How learning today?
Whether it was fun or bored
3.2 Teacher gives homework on students book
3.3 Teacher provides information materials to be studied at the next
meeting.

Worksheet
Direct Proportion and Indirect Proportion

Determine the type of problem the following proportion (direct or indirect

proportion), and determine the value of the proportion problems:
1. A pile consisting of 72 books, the weight is 9 kg and the weight of each book
is same. Determine the amount of the pile when the books weight is 6 kg !
2. In the first week, a store bought 15 bottles of ketchup at a price of Rp127.500,
00. If the following week the store orders 2 dozen bottles of ketchup,
determine the money that must be paid by the store !
3. A train runs for 5 hours with an average speed of 56 km / hour. If another train
can travel the distance in 4 hours, determine the average speed
4. A job can be completed by 25 people within 60 days. If the number of workers
plus 5, determine the time required to complete the job
5. Comparison of the length sides of the triangle is 3: 4: 5. If circumference is 48
cm, determine the length of each side of the triangle
6. Rp 24.000, 00 can buy 3 kg of apples. How many kilograms of apples that can
be purchased with money Rp 40,000, 00?
7. A merchant can buy 35 pieces notebooks with price Rp1.350, 00 per piece. If
with the same amount of money he wants to buy 45 pieces of writing books,
what is the price of each book?
