Statement of Purpose

The movement towards a global economy and unprecedented explosion of free trade and
exchange worldwide has brought about immense opportunities to develop newer tools,
instruments and methodologies in the field of financial management. It is this challenging
environment to which I intend to contribute by evolving meaningful and optimal solutions to
various problems of finance. Management in Accounts or Finance, as a field, had always
fascinated me right from my graduation days. As I belong to a family where business is the
main stream, I developed interest into the same field as I grew.
I have done my schooling from Saraswati Vidhya Mandir, Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh. Since my
school days I have been interested in studies as well as extracurricular activities like sports,
cultural events, etc. The cultural events I actively participated were drama, recitation
competition, and elocution competition. I have been passionate about sports like athlete
and badminton also represented my school team in interschool competition. Apart from
cultural events and sports I was also inclined in helping for social causes like donation
camps for flood relief fund and earthquake disaster. I have got first prize for 100 meter
competition which was at the state level.
I was good in academics and I have constantly strived to excel at all the subjects taught in
school. I am in touch with computer since I was in A grade and was fascinated towards
learning computers. In my curriculum I learnt basic computer tools like BASIC, LOGO, DOS
and Paint brush. In 8th grade I secured A grade in TALLY, which is a computer course. It was
then I realized that I could go ahead and make my career in finance. The extraordinary
developments in this field, both in the accounts and management have further stimulated
my interest and have encouraged me to choose finance and management as the main field
as a specialization subject after my schooling.
During my graduation studies my interest in management and finance deepened. I
concentrated on management related subjects which were a part of my curriculum. It
emphasized more on practical orientation than theory, and followed a yearly pattern of
examinations. I keenly participated in co-curricular activities like college management
events. I undertook other non academic projects due to my keen knowledge in computer
program, tally. This helped to cover my expenses. This interest developed into a part time
business which I continued till date. As I always wanted to deepen my financial knowledge
further, I decided to take up business after my Diploma. I selected a 3 year course in
accountancy, finance and management as a specialization subject for graduation, in Swami
Vivekananda Insistute; Ratlam which is an A graded college affiliated to Vikram University.
The course included practical as well as theoretical approach and we were evaluated on
yearly basis examinations.
I also participated in various business events like project work. I was in the managing body
of my colleges state level event. During the course of these projects I came in contact with
various people in business fraternity. This helped me in business networking. My final year
project was business and financial based. The project was mainly aimed for flexible business
/ learning solution. The idea of this project came into my mind when I experienced and
learnt the business pattern in city.

I have worked with a company called Siddhivinayak Pvt ltd, Mumbai. There I used to work
with their Research & Development team for conceptualizing / feasibility research and
marketing of an embedded product. The product was an innovative product, based on
embedded & distributed item, designed for real life hair colour. This project was completed
in 6 months. After the completion of this project, the company offered another project. This
was for various web projects as a marketing manager for 6 months. These work experiences
were my internship.
I look forward to study management and Finance, in order to integrate my management
skills, abilities and to imbibe management knowledge for business Endeavour. I strongly feel
that Management in Finance at your esteemed University is a highly structured program
because it provides the right balance between theory and practice.
I feel the post graduate study at your University will be the most logical continuation of my
future goals. It therefore will be my prerogative to secure an admission in your University
with possible financial assistance. I am certain that I will match the high standards set by
your university.
