1. Qwerty paid one-half of her game show winnings to the government for taxes.
She invested one-third of her winnings in Yuis Copy shop at 14% interest and
one-sixth of her winnings in lolas bakery at 12% interest. If she earned a total of
Php 4,000 on the investments in one year, then how much did she win on the
game show?
2. Batman can clean up all of the crime in Gotham City in 8 hours, working alone.
Robin can do the same job alone in 12 hours. If starts crime fighting at 8am and
Batman joins him at 10am, then at what time will they have all of the crime
cleaned up?
3. Lohr plans to fence off a square feed lot and then cross-fence to divide the
feed lot into four smaller square feed lots. If he uses 480 ft of fencing, then how
much area will be fenced in?
4. A beverage producer makes two products, orange drink, containing 10%
orange juice and orange delight, containing 50% orange juice. How many gallons
of orange delight must be mixed with 300 gallons of orange drink to create a
new product containing 40% orange juice?
5. It took Yates 30 minutes longer to drive 275 miles on west of Green River,
than it took him to drive 300 miles east of Green River. Because of a sand storm
and a full load of cantaloupes, he averaged 10 mph less while traveling west of
Green River. What was her average speed for each part of the trip?

7. Kevins age is four-fifths of Neils age. 10 years later, Neils new age will be his

three times the first number, and the third number is the sum of the first two
numbers. What are the two numbers?
9. Lorick left UP with her motorbike at a rate of 100 kph. After one hour, Lei also
left UP with her Cadillac at the rate of 120 kph to give Lorick the umbrella she
left. In how many hours will Lei overtake Lorick?
10. Give a quadratic equation whose roots are the cubes of the roots of x 2-3x2=0.
