face of their business and held the responsibility of ensuring good customer
care
High Turnover of Seasonal Staf Since the staff turnover was very high
the Leisure Co could not got very heavy on the Training costs and just
optimize so as meet the target of adequate level of customer care.
Too much burden on the Seasonal Staf Currently the management
have to employ an insecure, low commitment workforce, provide the rapid
training and then make sure that they offer a good customer service which
further puts a lot of burden on the seasonal staff.
Ensuring Customer care with Employee Involvement (EI) : Interest in
EI was mainly to ensure the delivery of high degree of customer care
without withstanding too much dependence on the casual transient
Workforce
Incentives Schemes: Leisure Co has introduced schemes such as
employee report and employee share scheme towards strengthening the
team working system and improves training and recruitment procedures
which were crucial in winning the confidence of the seasonal staff and cut
down their high turnover rate.
Maintaining the proper mix of Core and Periphery Workforce: Core
workforce held the administrative reins of the operations, was a part of
permanent management and was responsible for supporting the periphery
staff hence in this case numerical flexibility in workforce was the key in the
best out of the workforce.
Striking the Perfect Balance: Leisure Co needed to strike the right
balance of Flexible Firm, Customer Care and HRM.A slight mismanagement
in either of these would disturb the entire business model and will go
against the functioning of the company.
