1. Talk about Scotland following the information given in the lesson

ACTIVITY 3
Context: Presentation
Time: 18
Organization: T displays a The British Isles poster or a large map of England, Wales,
Scotland and Ireland. Ss point to and name the countries. T encourages them to tell what they
know about Scotland. T points to Edinburgh on the map. T asks Ss if they know what is the
traditional Scottish costume, both for men and women. T teaches the word kilt.
Language: all and any.
Possible problems: Ss may not know to name the countries or to say something about the
traditional Scottish costume.
Listen, read and answer: Ss look at and talk about the pictures. T presents new vocabulary:
bagpipes, traditional costume.
T plays the recording 35 for Ss to listen and read. T checks that Ss understand the vocabulary.
T explains that a tattoo is an outdoor military spectacle with music, usually at night.
T reads aloud the question and encourages the Ss to talk about traditional clothes and dances
of their own country.
PROJECT FUN
T reads out the instructions and checks that Ss understand what to do. If time is too short, T
asks Ss to choose only one of the projects. If Ss choose Scotland, select one or two topics to
research, e.g.: When and where are the Highland Games? What sports are in the Highland
Games?
Language: all and any.
Possible problems: Ss may not understand the new vocabulary.
ACTIVITY 4
Context: Consolidation
Time: 20

Organization: T asks Ss in (L1) to choose three important words from the text on Pupils
Book page 25 or from their project which they want to remember. They should write down
the words in their notebooks. They discuss their choices.
AB page 25 Write the clothes words
Ss look at the pictures and identify the clothes. T checks answers by asking individuals to
write the words on the board and say them.

As Kevin is a pet and has a name, sentences should begin He

Possible problems: Ss may not identify the clothes and answer to the question.
