GAME FOR IRREGULAR


PAST TENSE VERBS

Guidelines for the game

Pupils will be divided into four groups. Each group consists of four pupils.
Teacher will distribute a piece of snake and ladder board to each group.
Each group will get a dice and four pieces.
Pupils in the group have to take turns to roll the dice and move their pieces.
For the first round, pupils are asked to give the past tense of the word.
For the second round, pupils are asked to give the past tense of the word and spell it
.and in the last round, pupils are required to form a sentence using the past tense of the

verb.
7. After the game session, teacher will distribute a handout to test the level of pupils
mastery on the irregular past tense verbs.

Rules and regulations

1. The teacher will indicate the time to start the game.


2. Pupils should not foul play when rolling the dice or moving their pieces.
3. Each pupil in the group has to attempt to answer the past tense of the word when
their piece is on the board.
4. One pupil from each group is assigned to write down all the answers their group
mate had listed.
5. Each group will play three rounds of it adhering to the each round rules.
6. Penalty will be given if any of the pupils is caught disobeying the rule.
7. Several forms of penalty that will be charged:
a. Answer three questions asked by group mates without saying Yes or No.
b. Say alphabets in backwards motion. (eg: Z A)

c. Act out a given situation.
