G Gazette is a wonderful venture by the Literary Representatives of GNITS

since 2014. I have noticed the transformation and innovation of ideas, issue
after issue, which is commendable. I congratulate each member of the
Editorial Board for its tremendous zeal and enthusiasm in bringing out the
latent talents of the future engineers of our institution. I wish them all the
very best and hope to see the ball rolling forever.

G Gazette was, is and will be the most

important project of the Literaria Clava. The
challenging idea it itself is, brought an
atmosphere filled with verve from the very
beginning. Working for this newspaper gave
me a remarkable experience about learning,
leading and doing a bang-up job. Most of all,
working together with a team of exceptional
students, whos every work and idea is
creditworthy, makes this newspaper an even
more distinguished and notable project of
Literaria Clava. Hoping this newspaper
surpasses all our expectations and succeeds
with flying colours.

I was very excited when our batch thought of

doing the college newspaper. I learnt time
management, team work and communicative
skills while working on this newspaper. It gave
me an opportunity to interact with the senior
faculty of our college. We have a very
passionate and talented team who make
working on this project challenging and fun.
Although we had our own share of difficulties,
we could overcome all of them because of our
hard work.

experience. I had the opportunity to learn
about things I never knew. Being a new
Literary Representative, I came to know
what a newsletter is all about and the
hard work that goes into it. It's always
wonderful to work with such a great team of

of girls who are ever supportive. Looking
forward to for many such releases!!

showcase my talents and has made me feel
confident about myself. I was given the
wonderful chance to interact with my seniors
and lecturers. They have given me useful
advice and their achievements have been a
source of inspiration for me. Working with a

effort put into coping with deadlines and
driving the other people concerned to give
satisfactory inputs is a task that requires
passion and dedication towards the main

ENGINEERS IN THE BIG PICTURE

Living in an age of robots, space-age technology
and nuclear weapons, that are accurate for over
100 million years, it is easy to think that we live
in the most technologically advanced age in
human history. It can seem that almost any task,
any activity can be accomplished with the mere
push of a button or the flip of a switch .This is the
result of the relentless efforts of people, thriving
to create a better tomorrow. A major difference
between other courses and engineering is that
they deal with the world that is at present, while
engineers envision the world that could be. It is
the job of the engineer to determine what
people need or want and figure out the best way
to provide it. This can involve something as
simple as an improved garbage bag that is
inexpensive yet tear-resistant, or as complex as a
cruise ship that is as long as four football fields,
as high as a 24-story building, and carries 6,000
passengers on 16 passenger decks. Modern
humans interact with two worlds at once. The
first is the natural worldthe earth, water, air,
plants, and animals that exist independently of
any human intervention. The second is the
human-made worldall the things people have
created for themselves in order to improve their
lives: their cities and farms and factories, their
clothes, their televisions, their medicines,

their musical instruments, their eyeglasses,

their credit cards. Without engineers, this
human-made world could not exist. Well, be
proud and spirited that you can be a part of
it!!!

completely as it also helps in maintaining the

THE VOICE
Peer pressure is certainly harmful to the
student's morale. Every person is unique and
cannot be compared to another person or
judged based on the performance of his/her
peers. When a child is inappropriately
compared with his classmates in terms of
marks and ranks, it tends to degrade his
confidence and eventually leads to lesser
quality of performance, which is actually the
opposite of the result intended. When a student
is pressurized by his classmates academic
performance, he/she might not always take it
the positive way and might totally give up
trying to do his best.
However it is also true that students need a
healthy dose of competition to keep them
going on the right track and eliminate lethargy,
and this implies that the importance of peer
pressure cannot be entirely ruled out.

that I scored an academic aggregate of 90% and got placed in Infosys, Accenture, Tech Mahindra. As a Telecommunications student I have presented a paper on
Direct Broadcast Satellites in IGNIUM 2013. I am mostly into organising events and I enjoy taking up responsibilities. My advice to my juniors would be to think
beyond academics and develop a passion apart from the career path chosen. Do not get diverted from your goals due to mob mentality and persevere to reach
whatever heights you aim for in your subject of interest, whether it is music, dance or whatsoever. Most often we sit back and pull ourselves out of activities just
because we are afraid of missing classes, while in reality the class might not have been important. End of day , it all boils down to whatever you have achieved in all

Its unfortunate that a girl in our country is neither safe

inside her mothers womb nor in the outside world. In this
modern era where we think that there is no difference
between men and women according to their work field,
education and profession, the society forces us to believe
that we are totally wrong. Cases of molestation, sexual
assault, eve teasing, especially in public transport actually
make life tough for women. Its not only in cities; crimes
against women are also on the rise in every nook and
corner of our country. The sad reality is that we live in an
increasingly violent society in which the fear of doing crime
never existed. As long as the mindset of the society does
not change, women can never be safe. So its time to
change the attitude of people who still think women are
inferior and soft targets.

Of late the society has become very unsafe for women. As we turn
on the TV, we see so many cases of women abuse. Equality among
both the genders is relatively better in the urban areas, where the
society is educated. Having said this, women do not feel safe on
the roads, while using the public transport. An incident of ogling
and misbehavior is a common sight on the roads. The condition is
deteriorating with each passing day in the country. A media report
would attract attention and widespread anger, but that vanishes
in a few days. The non-existence of foolproof and strict laws
enables the criminals to roam free in the society. It would take a
generations time to bring about change in the society regarding
its outlook towards women. It would mean working from the
grass root level. The society must change its view and behavior
towards women to have a safer society.

grave concern. One of the main reasons of violence against
women is the mentality which deems women inferior to
men. There is a dramatic increase in the number of crimes
against women. In my opinion, for us to see India as a
more flourished nation as envisaged in our Constitution, it
is time we realize what is right and what is wrong and act
in an integrated manner so that women can be
channelized into the mainstream of development and thus
contribute to socio-economic prosperity of the nation.

For everyone personal safety is a significant issue, especially

for women. Women are an esteemed part of the society
and play a pivotal role. But most of the society has failed to
realize this reality. One should be in charge of ones own
destiny. We have to be keen about ourselves and our
surroundings. Women possess a natural gift of subconscious
insight into situations and people; we have to learn to make
complete use of it because this insecurity is our fight. You
can and should be able to defend yourselves in all
circumstances and hence should always be updated on
global awareness. Strong justice laws are definitely needed
as existing ones are inefficient to provide justice and
incompetent to provide punishment to guilty. Trust your
mind and wits. Change in mind-sets of people is imperative.

In India even in the 21st century, women cannot step out of their house at any given time, assured of her physical and sexual
safety. Violence against women is often a cycle of abuse that manifests itself in many forms throughout their lives. Even at
the very beginning of her life, a girl may be the target of female infanticide in cultures, where preference for son is prevalent.
During childhood, violence against girls includes forced malnutrition, lack of access to medical care and education, female
genital mutilation, early marriage, and bonded labor. Personal safety has become an issue of importance especially for
women... The society and the government which advices women what to wear, failed to give out a strong message to those
culprits who are involved in violence against women. Today India is listed as 4th dangerous country for women to live in. Is
this is the achievement we gift our motherland? Is this what we are going to gift to our daughters, friends, wives and
mothers? Raise your voice and join hands to curb this menace.

DIGITAL PEN

HOLLOW FLASH LIGHT

A digital pen is one of the new electronic

inventions that can help us record information.
It uploads the information to your computer
where it can be viewed, edited and filed as a
word processing document. The digital pen
utilizes character recognition software and
works by recording movement. Features include
profile creation, a dictionary and fifteen
language options. It was invented by Microsoft.

Ann Makosinski is a 16 year old student who

invented a battery free flash light. A free energy
device that is powered by the heat in your hand.
This device works on the principle of
thermoelectric effect. The device consists of
ceramic tiles, LEDs, aluminum tubes and a small
transformer. The thought for this invention struck
her when she visited places where students could
not read as they did not have access to electricity.

SMART TRASH CAN

VOICE STICK

A Japanese engineer has created a trash can that

moves on its own to catch your trash. Developed
by Minoru Kurata, the device features a wallmounted sensor that detects which direction the
trash is coming from. A computer then calculates
the thrown trash's trajectory and moves the
trash can so the item will land inside the can.
The invention won an Excellence Award at the
Japan Media Arts Festival.

Invented by Sung woo Park ,this new gadget is a

portable scanning device that reads printed text
and converts it into a voice. The voice stick can
read any written document such as newspapers,
books and mail. It was the gold medal winner at
the International Design Excellence Awards for
new inventions.
