Korrik: The Island Nation

PREVIEW
By : Matt Sylvain (Hanzo187)
Introduction
Two centuries ago, rival clans vied for supreme
control over the island nation of Korrik in what
became known as the War of the Nine. The war
took many lives and brought widespread ruin to
the lands. In time, the war threatened to rip the
very lands apart...but that was not to be.
One day, it is said, a quartet of beings
appeared: A knight, Keldon, a thief, Kage, a
wizard, K'tala and a priest, Kivis. Roaming from
countryside to countryside, these four
confronted the Quinjulo of each of the nine
clans. Making them see the error of their ways,
the four gathered the Quinjulo and brought
forth the Commandments of the Nine, thus
finally bringing an end to the long war and
returning peace to Korrik. With this signing, the
four disappeared, never to be seen again.
Now, 200 years later, the peace established in
Korrik has become shaken. The recent,
unexplained death of the White Lance's
Quinjulo, Bardan, has caused conflict among
the clans, both internal and external. With the
threat of war once again looming on the
horizon, what will happen next? Will the four
legendary figures of the past mysteriously return
to purge the growing tensions, or will more
earthly figures determine the fate of Korrik?

Tiger-men are free-roaming warriors and

forests, living off the land and taking up trades
as hunters and guides. Since they almost never
visit cities, tiger-men are the only ani-man race
to not be a part of the nine clans. This gives
them a unique position, however, as the clans
see value in freelance warriors, particularly the
Raven Blade, and they, as well as the White

temporary capacity.
Tiger-men favor gods of the wild and nature,
usually worshipping Korvus and his twin

Vulture-Men
Vulture-men are strange, to put it bluntly. They
are considered death’s gatekeeper, which would
make one think the Raven Blade would welcome
them. In truth, the clan has never associated with
them, as their open displays of cannibalism are
not up to the Raven Blade’s discreet reputation.
