    Bible reading plan Based on Grant Horner's system, this never-ending system made a few important changes: 1. Instead of small pieces of readings spread all over the place, it take slightly larger chunks in less readings. I find it easier to absorb the message when it's given more context. 2. The books are not read in canonical order, but rather in an order that better helps me understand the bible's flow. For example, luke-acts are together. This arrangement of the books is directly from NIV's "The Books of the Bible".     -------------------Every day read three chapters from
    old Testament, three chapters from
    new testament, plus one chapters
    from Proverbs and one psalm.
    Result:
    Read through Old Testament in
    approx 8 months.
    New testament in approx 3 months.
    Proverbs in 1 month.
    Psalms in 5 months.
