MUNICIPAL RESOLUTION NO. 09-2014

ADOPTING THE PHILIPPINE PLAN OF ACTION FOR NUTRITION.
Proponent/Sponsor:

Honorable Councilor Carlomagno P. Flores

WHEREAS,

the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) is a medium-term plan, i.e. from
2011 to 2016, which is a response to chronic malnutrition in the Philippines and
aimed in improving the nutritional status of Filipinos. Specifically, this action plan
addresses hunger, child undernutrition, maternal undernutrition and such other
nutrition situations in the country;

WHEREAS,

the National Nutrition Council teamed up with Intervida Philippines Foundation,

and together hopes to provide support for local authorities to improve the nutrition
services being offered to their constituents. They have allocated a total amount of
Php700,000.00 for the year 2014 alone which will be downloaded to the
municipality and is intended to be utilized for its various projects relative to
nutrition, particularly in the barangays of San Jose, Bubulusan, Muladbucad
Grande, Muladbucad Pequeo, Quibongbongan, Mauraro, Doa Mercedes,
Quitago and Inascan, all of which in this municipality;

WHEREAS,

as presented in a Committee Meeting held for the purpose of determining the

viability of the adoption of the action plan, this august body sees no reason not to
adopt the same, and in fact believes that the same is beneficial and practical and
would address the nutrition situation in the municipality;

WHEREFORE, in view of the foregoing premises, be it now:

RESOLVED,

as it is hereby resolved by the Sangguniang Bayan of Guinobatan, Albay in

session assembled, to Adopt as it hereby Adopts the Philippine Plan of Action for
Nutrition.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this resolution be furnished the Municipal Health Office, and
such other concerned offices or agencies, for their information and appropriate
action.
APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY, on motion of Honorable Councilor Carlomagno P. Flores and duly
seconded by the members present this 27 th day of January, 2014 during their 4 th
Regular Session.
