callerwithacustomizedwelcomegreetingthatdescribestheactionsavailabletoan

theEmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystemanditsrelatedcomponents.

Basic Operation

TheEmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystem,initsdefaultconfiguration,isaneightport
systemwiththreehoursofvoicestoragethatcanprocesseightdifferentcallersatthe
sametime.Anadditionalthreehoursofrecordingtimecanbeaddedwiththe
additionoftheoptionallyavailableexpansionmodule.Thecallerscanbeany
combinationofoutsideorinsidecallers.Aseachcallerfinishestheircall,theportis
madeavailableforthenextcallerallowingalargenumberofuserscanbesupported
withtheEmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystem.
TheEmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystemusesSingleDigitCommands,eliminating
theneedtomemorizelongkeysequences.Oncetheuserisfamiliarwiththe
system,theywillbeabletodialaheadbyknowingthecorrectcommands.

Allmailboxescanbeaccessedfromanytelephoneanywhereintheworldaslongas
touchtonedialingisavailable.Allmailboxfunctionsaresecuredbyapassword
whichtheuserprovideswhenenteringtheirmailbox.Thepasswordguarantees

Properpreparationisextremelyimportantforasuccessfulinstallationandwillresult
inimprovedcustomersatisfactionwiththeEmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystem.
Takingafewmomentsinitiallytosecurethenecessaryequipment,programming
information,andmanpowerrequirementswillstreamlinetheinstallation,aswellas
enhancethecustomersperceptionofhowthenewsystemwillworkforthem.
Inordertoproperlysetupthesystem,youshouldmakesurethatthefollowing
itemsareavailablebeforestartingtheinitialsetup:

TheEmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystemcircuitboardsarestaticsensitive.They
shouldbehandledbytheedgesonlyandkeptintheantistaticpackagingbagsuntil
readyforinstallation.Donotsubjectanycomponentpartstostaticdischargeor
physicalmishandling.Whenhandlingcircuitboards,itisadvisabletouseananti
staticwriststrapandcovertheworksurfacewiththeantistaticbagusedtoshipthe
board.Staticchargesshouldbedischargedfromthebodybeforetouchingthe
boardsorcomponentsbytouchingthegroundedmetalcaseofthesystempower
supplyunitorcoldwatergroundconnectionifavailable.Theproductwarrantyfor
thisequipmentdoesnotcoverdamagecausedbysuchdescribedstaticdischargesor
mishandling.Anymodulesorcomponentsdeterminedtohavebeendamagedin
suchamannerwillonlybereplacedatdealercost.

Wheninstallingandusingtelephoneequipment,thebasicsafetyprecautions
describedbelowshouldalwaysbefollowedtoreducetheriskoffireand/or

heatregister.Inaddition,EmeraldICEFlashVoiceMailSystemcardshouldnotbe
installedinanenclosedcabinetunlessproperventilationisprovided.

Warranty Limitations
Theproductwarrantyislimitedtoreplacementofdefectivecomponentsanddoes
notcoverinjurytopersonsorpropertyorotherconsequentialdamages.

FCC Regulations
Thisequipmenthasbeentestedbyanindependenttestinglabandfoundtocomply
withthelimitsforaClassAdigitaldevice,pursuanttopart15oftheFCCRulesas

determinehowmanydevicescanbeconnectedtoatelephoneline.Inmostareas,
thesumofRENsofalldevicesononelineshouldnotexceedfive.Iftoomany
devicesareattached,theymaynotringproperly.Shouldtherebeanyquestionsthat
thecustomerprovidedequipmentmaycauseharmtothetelephonenetwork,the
localoperatingcompanyisrequiredtonotifythecustomerofanimpending
temporaryinterruptionofservice.Thecustomermustbegiventheopportunityto
correcttheexistingproblem,ifpossible.

Thetelephonecompanymustalsoadvisecustomersoftheirrightsforfiling

ofthissystem,thetelephonecompanyisrequiredtogiveadequatenoticeofthe
