Explogel V is a revolutionary cartridged watergel explosive range that combines proven explosive technology with the proprietary
Expan Ammonium Nitrate technology. The inclusion of Expan ensures a product with enhanced sensitivity and energy partitioning for
improved advance and generally coarser fragmentation.

The Explogel range (which includes V-Series and Explosmooth) consists of six product grades; covering energies from 82% to 239% the
energy of standard ANFO (Ammonium Nitrate Fuel Oil). The products are sold in individual cartridges , wrapped in a plastic sleeve which
is crimped at both ends with an aluminium clip. The cartridges are then packed into a plastic bag which, in turn, is packed into a boldly
printed carton, identifying the product as a watergel explosive.

classifi ed as dangerous goods and can cause personal injury if not handled correctly.

Explogel cartridges are not impact and friction sensitive.

explosmooth
A very low energy product designed for smooth-wall and perimeter blasting in underground tunnelling and civil engineering excavations.
The energy of this product is approximately 40% less than that of products typically used for hard rock stoping applications.

explogel V4
A relatively low energy product designed specifi cally for stoping applications where coarse, more consistent fragmentation distribution
and good advance is required (typically gold mining). Excellent for easier stoping conditions where emulsion explosives tend to cause
over-fi ne /excessive fragmentation.

explogel V6
Explogel V6 is a middle range energy watergel cartridge that may be used for general mining purposes. This product is predominantly
used for hard rock stoping applications where a higher gas volume is required for increased advance per blast.

explogel V8
A high energy product designed for very tough stoping, development / tunnelling or bord & pillar conditions.

explogel V10
A high energy product particularly suited to deeper hole applications, such as shaft sinking, surface and quarry mining. The product is ideal
when used in cold conditions where other packaged products may become problematic.

explogel V12
A product with exceptionally high energy designed for extremely tough blasting conditions or any application where a very high powder
factor is required. The energy of this product is approximately 30% higher than any cartridged emulsion explosive. Typically the product is
used in shaft sinking and very tough development applications.

The information enables Sasol Nitro to refer to quality records in order to investigate customer complaints.
All high volume products made using the Rotaclip machine. Rotaclip product all use the same colour fi lm,
however the grade and name is printed using the colour codes as above.
