Objectives:

to solve steady state problem of thermal-fluids problem analytically and ANSYS.

To identify the difference between thermal-fluids problem and steady state problem.
Compare the analytical and ANSYS results to draw necessary conclusions
To observe the temperature profile at different time level

Introduction
In this lab experiment, a software is utilize which is called ANSYS to solve heat in solid mechanics. Since
most soled mechanics problems are represented by partial differential equations, ANASYS used PDE
after the data required such as engineering data, geometry and model set up.
Procedure
Geometry
1. Geometry tab is clicked from the workbench menu. The unit millimeter is selected after a
window appears.
2. Here, the square with width and length of 100mm was created with thickness of 1mm.
Mesh
The material geometry need to set up a mesh which acts as points. Therefore the Mesh is set up with
25mm and 25mm length of square throughout the geometry.
Set up
Set up is where the material is set up with boundary conditions of the object which is the temperature.
The unspecified boundaries are treated as insulated.
The experiment provides 3 type of cases which is case A, case B and Case C respectively. Below are the
illustration of each case. With the observation of solution for both directional heat flux for mesh 25 mm

Discussion
Here from the analsysis, we can prove that there are still error occurred in the experiment, mostly the
error occur due to the meshing size and the provided legend. This is due to we human could not
determine the temperature at the exact point.
Therefore we can conclude that the error occur in the experiment in small and it is due to human
incapability of observing. Therefore the system ANSYS is applicable in this experiment.
Conclusion
To conclude this experiment, we have proven that the objective of this experiment is achieved by using
ANSYS and theoretically calculated.
