APPLICATION:
During installation, testing, especially if the protective gear is connected to the power line via a current
transformer it is advisable to use our Primary Current Injection Set. Thus, wide ranges of Primary
Current Injection Sets are being manufactured by "NTPL".
These sets have been designed to enable the users of heavy electrical equipment to carry out such
tests as have previously been described with a maximum efficiency at minimum cost, providing a
convenient means of delivering, controlling and measuring a heavy current in a comparatively low
voltage low impedance circuit. A set like this is ideal for routine testing of circuit breakers, current
transformers with or, without ammeter and can be used for many other applications where a heavy
current supply of short duration is required.

CONTROL & MEASUREMENT UNIT:

Power Mains ON OFF operation is done by means of an ON OFF switch along

with MAINS ON lamp indication & Fuse or by MCB.

Control ON OFF operation is done by means of an ON-OFF switch along with CONTROL ON lamp
indication & Fuse.

Isolation Transformer for control operation, auxiliary supply to meter and power supply to
electronic PCBs (if any).

Output current circuit START-STOP push button along with START lamp indication.

INCREASE/DECREASE circuit to control motor operated Current Regulator. When high current
circuit is switched ON the regulator will rotate to increase the output current when
INCREASE/DECREASE switch is kept in INCREASE position and INCREASE push is pressed ON or
decrease the output current when the INCREASE/ DECREASE switch is kept in DECREASE position.

Zero start interlocking will be provided to ensure that the current circuit cannot be energized unless
the regulator is initially kept or brought back to zero position.

Automatic tripping mechanism for protecting the Test Set, Loading transformer & Sample under
test against over loading/short circuit fault etc. After tripping, output current will be switched OFF.

Digital Ammeter connected in the secondary circuit of the current transformer, giving reading of
loading current in 100% of the selected range. Resolution: 0. 1

The variable voltage source to the current loading transformer provided can also be used
separately to obtain a variable voltage output source which can be utilized for many other
purposes.

Terminals with NC contact for START operation of Time Interval Meter along with 230V, 1 ph., 50Hz.
AC power source socket.

Input cable / plug & socket, interconnection cables provided.

The whole control circuitry will be housed within a sheet metal cabinet properly treated and powder
coated.

REGULATOR UNIT:
Oil cooled continuously variable autotransformer of suitable capacity providing smooth motor
operated control from zero to maximum rated current.

LOADING UNIT:
This unit will be housed within a well-ventilated sheet steel cubicle and will be consisting
of the following items.

Double wound type loading transformer with secondary winding sections arranged for output
current ranges.

Current Transformer & its secondary terminals.

Heavy current output bus bars.

OPTIONAL AT EXTRA COST:

Digital time interval meter, for measurement of time during the operation of protective relays is very
important and a time interval meter can measure this time. For this NTPL make Digital Time Interval
meter is provided.
