Winston Churchills Leadership and Legacy

2006. Print. We used this book to get pictures of Winston Churchill. These pictures helped us
understand Churchill's life through pictures. Under the picture they're captions that explain his
life. Churchill was a tremendous person from birth to death.

N.d. Web. 25 Oct. 2014. Winston Churchill became the First Lord of Admiralty twice: 19111915 and 1939-1940. The task of First Lord of Admiralty was to keep the navy in tip-top shape.
However, Churchill did not just keep the navy in top shape, he modernized the navy, promoted
military aircraft, and most importantly he created a tank for the navy. This picture was important
to include in our website because it was one of his earliest leadership position.

N.d. Web. 29 Oct. 2014. This is a picture of Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin. This picture is
important because these three individuals were the leaders for the Allies during World War 2.
Roosevelt joined the war after the attack on Pearl Harbor, and Stalin joined soon after. The most
important thing about this picture is that they held meetings to organize the army and talk about
strategies they could use in order to overcome the Nazis.

with President Roosevelt interacting with each other. It is significant to our project because them
interacting with each other symbolizes their countries' alliance. This alliance still exists today
and it's a legacy they left behind. Having these 2 great leaders being comrades is a great decision
for our future.

the greatest war of all times. As prime minister, he lead Britain to victory against the belligerent
Nazis. Not only did he lead them to hard fought victory, he never gave up during the war. He
was always pushing Britain to fight against Germany at all cost. Due to this spirit of his, he was
given the nickname "The British Bulldog".

sign looks almost identical as the peace sign. The 'V' sign was most popular during the era where
Churchill was Prime Minister. The 'V' sign symbolizes a will to fight back. This 'V' sign told the
Allies power that they won't give up; they will fight Hitler and the Axis Power with all they
have.

one of his many speeches. In the picture, he has a few different microphones meaning that many
channels want his words of greatness shown to their viewers. This is significant to our project
because were showing him in the action of delivering one of his inspirational speeches. These
speeches play a huge part of the legacy he left behind.

picture of Churchill with his wife. This shows significance because it shows that he has a close
relationship with his wife. Their stable relationship helped to lessen the stress of being a leader
as it was a good thing for him. He really loves and cares for his family.

and it shows that as a general, he did a lot of work. He lead part of the Britains army in WW1.
This shows that he was such a great leader that he was also a general, leading the troops to fight.

quotes. We used some of these around our website where they fit. These wise words of Winston
Churchill also offers us with what his thoughts. Their significance is that they give us his own
words to use as a sign of his leadership and legacy.

This is a picture of the Nazis. They were the most dominant group at the time, and were the main
force that the Allies must overcome in order win the war. Churchill's amazing leadership helped
them to oppose the Nazis and eventually defeat them.

WW2 from his own point of view. It shows the legacy he left by writing books about history
through his eyes. It's a great way to find out what actually happened from an eyewitness account.

helped Britain before officially joining the Allies side. This picture has significance in the fact
that they're Britain's allies. This alliance still withholds to this day and it was because of this war
that they allied.

is that his leadership led to the making of his war cabinet and who was in it. These men were his
go-to guys for his war issues. They were a great help during World War 2.

This is a picture depicting Churchill's parents. This is significant because it shows us who raised
him and who his authority figures were. It also gives us a bit of information surrounding his
childhood. It's very important as it's the basis of what led him to be such a great leader.

You get to see that he's a family man as well as a powerful leader. He looks happy to be

is a picture depicting London Street after a bombing from Germany. We used it to show how
they can come back from a defeat thanks to Churchill's great leadership. This shows that even
though the worst happened, Britain still stood up to fight back. They did whatever they could to
keep the Nazis out.

Sweat speech. It's a very powerful speech shows his amazing leadership. This speech being

Churchill accepting the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953. He was such a great man and he was
so good at what he did that they awarded this to him. He was seen as a great leader that he was
deemed worthy. This award being given to him left a legacy that he was an amazing individual.

This is a picture of President Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron at the White
House. This shows a good, strong relationship between the U.S. and Britain today all because of
Winston Churchill. If it weren't for his creation of the alliance, there wouldn't be one today.
Thanks to his great leadership skills, we have a great legacy in that alliance.

greatest leader due to having an state funeral honoring a fallen hero.

Winston Churchill was an incredible leader, but an even an incredible father.

'Knight of the Garter' under Queen Elizabeth in 1953. He had a great sense of justice and respect.
Churchill met all of the high criteria that the Queen thinks that a Knight of the Garter should
have. He also showed great leadership, making him a shoo-in in the Queen' eyes.

throughout our website when needed. It helped give us some insight on his words of wisdom.
These greatly helped to get our point across since they are his own words.

2014. We used this website to listen to the 'Blood, Toil, Tear, Sweat' speech that Churchill
delivered to the House of Commons. We used this audio of Churchill to learned that he
immediately wanted to unite all three of Britain's political in order to fight against the Axis
Power. The most important part of the speech occurred at the end when Churchill said that there
will be no Britain if they lose the war. The most important fact that we discovered was that
Winston Churchill will do everything in his power to win the war. "Victory at all cost," said
Churchill.

Web. 29 Oct. 2014. We used this website to listen to the "We Shall Fight on the Beaches"
speech. This speech was mainly a report of the Dunkirk Evacuation. Churchill had suspicions
that France would soon sign a treaty with Germany thus leaving the British to fight alone. The
most important fact that we learned was that even though Britain might be fighting the war
alone, Britain will not give up.

gather information about Winston Churchill's leadership position. We learned that throughout his
lifetime; Winston Churchill had many leadership roles such as President of Board and Trade,
Home Security, First Lord of the Admiralty, and etc. The most important of those leadership
tenure would be when he was Prime Minister of Britain twice. The most important fact that we
ascertained was the fact that he took pride in every leadership role he had.

enhance our knowledge of Winston Churchill's leadership role. We learned some of the
contribution that Churchill made in the effort to stop Hitler, such as keeping the navy in tip top
fighting shape. His greatest contribution in the effort to stop Hitler must be when he formed an
alliance with the United States and the Soviet Union. The most important fact that we learned
was that Winston Churchill did everything in his power to try to annihilate the Nazis.

Churchill's hatred towards the Nazis. We learned that Churchill warned Britain about Nazi
Germany, but they refuse to listen to his warnings. Eventually, Germany starts World War 2. The
most important thing that we learned from this website is that Churchill's will to keep fighting
against the Nazis inspired the Allies to not give up.

leading to Churchill being named Prime Minister. We learned that Winston Churchill was named
Prime Minister on May 10, 1940. We also learned that he wasn't the first choice as Prime
Minister. However, the most important fact that we learned was that he had the support of the
public even though he wasn't welcomed by political leaders.

Evacuation. The Dunkirk Evacuation was an evacuation where British and French retreated due
to the rapid growth of the Axis territory. A total of 338,000 men were saved during this
evacuation. The most important fact that we learned was that after the Dunkirk Evacuation, the
French army grew weak thus leading to an eventual treaty between France and Germany.

Winston's first action as Prime Minister. Churchill's first action as Prime Minister was to unite all

three political parties of Britain. Churchill's right hand man, Lord Halifax, wanted to make a
truce with Germany to avoid a violent war. The most important fact that we discovered was that
Churchill was determined to annihilate Hitler and the Nazis.

used this website to learn about how the British army strengths were. We also learned that
although Churchill is an amazing wartime Prime Minister, but he wasn't the best peacetime
Prime minister. During his wartime Prime Minister term, he pleaded to the US to join the Allies.
The most important fact that we learned was that after the attack of Pearl Harbor, the US and
later Soviet Union would join the Allies.

wanted to unite people from all over to fight the Axis power.
