At 16 tonnes the Volvo FL is a light and compact fuel

tanker equipped with wide single rear tyres this vehicle is
available with a narrow width of only 2.3m ideal for
working in tight rural lanes and driveways. With its 6 or 9
speed manual and the option of the automated
mechanical I-Sync gearbox, matched with its spritely
240hp engine the FL can nip in and around city centre
traffic or country lanes with the driver fully focussed on
the road.
The Volvo FL is supplied with a full all steel day cab, or a
medium Comfort cab for providing greater space behind the
seats for the drivers wet weather gear.
Based on the Volvo FL 16 tonne chassis, this special Volvo is
fully supported by the Volvo dealer network. For long service
life and maximum protection the cab can be supplied in a
choice of colours direct from the factory.

Volvo FL packages for hazardous goods

The Volvo FL can be supplied for ADR only and or Safe Load
Pass Scheme SLPS.

SLPS Conversion will include

Dedicated blue armoured tachograph supply cable
Two pole master switch
both +positive & -negative battery terminals are switched
Roof marker lamps wired through battery master switch
All earth points located forward of the rear cab wall
Fire screen enclosure behind cab
An additional external knock down switch with green
indicator lamps on both sides
An escape / life hammer
Cigarette lighter and ashtray blanked out
Male C type connector under front bumper
Earth straps between rear axle, and fuel tank
Single piece rear steel or aluminium rear wings
Labelling and identification tags to the SLPS requirements
Modify night heater if fitted by fitting a link plug or key
Handbrake interlock to PTO and side guard bars
External engine stop if PTO is fitted

ADR only
For ADR operations only, Volvo offers the ADR2 package
which fulfils the following ADR types AT, OX, FL, EX/II & EX/III.
ADR approved tachograph - Ex marked
Single pole double action master switch with
reconnection facility located externally behind cab and
inside on the dash.
Ventilated battery box and covered battery terminals
If specified an ADR approved night heater with no timer
fitted, it switches off when PTO is engaged and when
engine is stopped
Protected electrics in seamless chassis conduit
