YOUTH EXCHANGES
In Youth Exchanges supported by Erasmus+, groups of young people from different countries jointly design, prepare and
carry out a work programme. It is usually a mix of workshops, debates, role-plays, simulations, outdoor activities. The young
people are supported by experienced youth workers and leaders in this. Youth Exchanges allow them to develop competences,
become aware of socially relevant topics, discover new cultures, and strengthen values like solidarity, democracy, etc.
Erasmus+ is the European Unions programme for boosting skills and employability through education, training, youth, and
sport. Youth activities under Erasmus+ aim to improve the key competences, skills and employability of young people, promote
young people's social inclusion and well-being, and foster improvements in youth work and youth policy at local, national and
international level.

PROJECT INFORMATION

This document certifies that LUPU ALEXANDRA took part in the Youth Exchange More than Money: Social

Entrepreneurship Heroes organised by Asociacija "Aktyvus Jaunimas" (Active Youth Association).


The exchange project was developed and implemented in cooperation with the following partners:
Asociatia Tineret pentru Dezvoltare Durabila, FuturEurope, OportunidadEuropa, Associazione di promozione turistica
e sociale In Tour, Praxis Europe

The aim and the specific objectives of the project were:


(1) Coach unemployed youth on how to create their own social enterprises and the key skills needed for that; (2)
generate fresh ideas for social enterprises. At the same time the project intends to promote the concept of social
entrepreneurship among the target groups and the general public.

Main activities:
(1) group exercises, games, quizzes, simulation activities and interactive workshops; (2) country presentations on
social entrepreneurship; (3) various art-related activities; (4) outdoor activities (e.g. paper clip challenge); (5) special
video afternoons; (6) public activities and many more.

Improved communication and learned a lot of useful expressions in both written and oral foreign language (colloquial, as well
as professional).

MATHEMATICAL COMPETENCE AND BASIC COMPETENCES IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY


The participant has learned how to use relevant mathematical and statistical models in the context of starting up a company.
Has been taught how to prospect and estimate revenues and expenses in order to set up a balance sheet for a business.

DIGITAL COMPETENCE
Has learned how to create and effectively disseminate relevant video and photo resources. The participant has also been
taught how to use various online tools intended for non-formal education and finding funding opportunities.

LEARNING TO LEARN
Through interactive workshops, games, activities and presentations improved skills required to effectively and efficiently teach,
present, learn, manage time and work successfully in a team. At the same time, the participant has improved public speaking
skills. Has learned how to evaluate the learning process via feedback and reflections.

SOCIAL AND CIVIC COMPETENCES


Has learned a number of non-formal education methods, including various games, activities and workshops aimed to promote
social inclusion of youth, as well as to motivate others. Social skills with regard to communication with people from different
backgrounds were improved. Participants awareness about European citizenship and civic involvement has been raised.

SENSE OF INITIATIVE AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP


Has learned about social entrepreneurship and a number of its good practices. Their business models and keys to success
were analysed; and, subsequently, the participant acquired knowledge on how to carry out a market research, write a business
plan and where to focus when starting-up. Various marketing, sales, positioning and branding strategies have been taught. The

participant has also learned about finances and cost-recovery mechanisms of- and funding opportunities for social enterprises.
Finally, the elements of pitching a business idea to investors have been taught both in theory and in practice.

CULTURAL AWARENESS AND EXPRESSION


Multi-cultural exchange and mutual understanding was facilitated through an interaction and dialogue of participants, guest
speakers and organisers. The participant has learned about other religions, cultures and nationalities. Traditional songs and
dances from all of the participant countries have also been taught throughout the project. Lastly, through various activities the
participant's artistic and drawing skills were improved.

We had no fixed role in our team except the one of team-leader as requested. It means that each of us could adapt and

We were seven participants who always worked together as a team and helped each other when it was necessary.My
individual contrubution to that project was translating conversations and tasks to members of my group who couldn't
speak English.

(1) Coach unemployed youth on how to create their own social enterprises and the key skills needed for that; (2)
generate fresh ideas for social enterprises. At the same time the project intends to promote the concept of social
entrepreneurship among the target groups and the general public.

(1) group exercises, games, quizzes, simulation activities and interactive workshops; (2) country presentations on
social entrepreneurship; (3) various art-related activities; (4) outdoor activities (e.g. paper clip challenge); (5) special

present, learn, manage time and work successfully in a team. At the same time, the participant has improved public speaking
