WHAT IS SOIL?

Soils are complex mixtures of minerals, water, air, organic

matter, and countless organisms that are the decaying remains of
once-living things. It forms at the surface of land it is the skin of
the earth. Soil is capable of supporting plant life and is vital to life
on earth.
Soil, as formally defined in the Soil Science Society of
America Glossary of Soil Science Terms, is:
1. The unconsolidated mineral or organic material on the
immediate surface of the earth that serves as a natural medium for
the growth of land plants.
2. The unconsolidated mineral or organic matter on the surface
of the earth that has been subjected to and shows effects of genetic
and environmental factors of: climate (including water and
temperature effects), and macro- and microorganisms, conditioned
by relief, acting on parent material over a period of time.
WHAT IS WEATHER?
Weather is the state of the atmosphere, to the degree that it
is hot or cold, wet or dry, calm or stormy, clear or cloudy.
Weather, seen from an anthropological perspective, is something
all humans in the world constantly experience through their senses,
at least while being outside. There are socially and scientifically
constructed understandings of what weather is, what makes it
change, what effects it has on humans in different situations etc.
Therefore weather is something people often communicate about.
Turning back to the meteorological perspective, most weather
phenomena occur in the troposphere, just below the stratosphere.
Weather generally refers to day-to-day temperature
and precipitation activity, whereas climate is the term for the
statistics of atmospheric conditions over longer periods of time.
When used without qualification, "weather" is generally
understood to mean the weather of Earth.
Earth, also called the world and, less frequently, terra (especially
in science fiction or Gaia, is the third planet from the Sun,
the densest planet in the Solar System, the largest of the Solar
System's four terrestrial planets, and the only astronomical
object known to accommodate life.

The Moon (Latin: Luna) is Earth's only natural satellite. Although

not the largest natural satellite in the Solar System, it is, among the
satellites of major planets, the largest relative to the size of the
object it orbits (its primary). It is the second-densest satellite
among those whose densities are known

The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System. It is almost
spherical and consists of hot plasma interwoven with magnetic
fields.

Methods in Food Preservation:

1. Drying
Is the removal of moisture from food.
2. Salting
It is usually done in sea foods.
3. Freezing
Is the removal of heat from the food
through the use of low temperature.
4. Curing
Used in the production of ham, tocino,
corned beef and some other meats.
5. Canning
Is the sealing of food in cans or jars.
6. Preservatives
Substances that are used to preserve.
