Program for Insurance Advisors (lA) to join SBI Life in UM Group SBI Life lnsurance Advisors who wish to
eligibility norms either under
Plan A or Plan PIAN A
apply through 'Utkarsh' need to fulfill the given B and accordingly apply under the same:
Qualification Norms
Minimum Graduate or 15 years of completed
education in 10+2+3 scheme
Age: Not more than 45 years on the date of
application
Business Performance
Norms
Minimum 15 lakh of first year premium for two
successive Vears
Minimum 20 lives assured for two successive years
Minimum 60% Persistency Ratio
Qualification Norms
- Minimum Intermediate/ 12'" Standard
- Age: Not more than 45 years on the date of
application
Business Performance
Norms
Minimum 20 lakh of first year premium in a year
Minimum 25 lives assured within a year

PIAN B
1. Eligible lA needs to apply to the concerned Branch Sales Manager (BSM), Assistant Branch Sales
Manager (lncharge) TABSM
(lll through his Unit Manager / Agency Manager (AM)
/ Senior
Agency Manager (SAM)/ Territory Manager (TM)/ Assistant Branch Sales Manager (ABSM).

Concerned BSM / ABSM (l) will evaluate such
reco m m e n d ations.
HR shall scrutinize the applications received
norms above, will be called for interview.
Composition of Interview panel:
i. RSM / ASM
ii. Regional HR (Mandatory)
requests and send it to Regional HR along with his
and all those who become eligible as per eligibility
The assessment of the candidates by the panel members will be duly recorded in the standard
interview assessment sheet designed for the purpose under the signatures of all the panel
members.
5. All those selected on the basis of interview shall be put up to the concerned Regional Director
(RD) for approval, by Regional HR.
5. once approved by the RD, Regional HR should send in the papers to Corporate office for
issuance of Offer Letter.
7. Upon Joining, intimation by mail should be given by Regional HR to Sales Administration for
deactivating agency code of lA.
Selection under PLAN A:

a. Candidates selected under Plan A will be designated as Unit Manager and will be placed
at Grade M812. They will be under probation for a period of 6 months from the date of
join ing as Unit Manager.
b. They will be offered compensation equivalent to the lowest salary slab for the UM
Group i.e. Rs 2.00 lakh p.a. and business reimbursements at present or as revised by the
Company in futu re.
c. They will have same business targets and confirmation norms as laterally recruited Unit
Managers.
Selection under PLAN B:
a. Candidates selected under Plan B will be designated as Sales Officers and will be placed
at Grade M8L1 with CTC of Rs 1.5 Lakh o.a. and business reimbursements.
b. They will be under probation of l year from their Date of Joining as Sales Officers.

9.During their probation, they will have the minimum business target of getting 2 lAs
licensed and 2 Lakh of New Business per month.
Performance during probation will be reviewed on a quarterly basis. The Sales Officer
will be terminated if the business targets are not met for two successive quarters (i.e.
licens:ng 12 lAs and 12 Lakh of New Business in two quarters).
At the end of the probation, those Sales Officers who achieve the business targets will
be confirmed as Unit Manager with compensation equivalent to the lowest salary slab
for the UM Group i.e. Rs 2.00 lakh p.a. and business reimbursements.
f. Business done by lAs recruited by the Sales Officers during probation will be credited to
their UM Code only and they will be entitled for sales incentives on it. However, neither
the business done by these Sales Officers will be considered for incentive credit to the
Branch Manager nor they will be counted against headcount of the branch.

g. Promotion of the employees selected through this channel, from Senior Agency
Manager to Territory Manager and above will be subject to their completing graduation.
The Approving authority for all such cases of appointment will be the Regional Director of the
concerned region.
1. Recruitment will be made on the basis of one or more of the following:
- Annual manpower plans
- Vacancies due to seoaration
2. Once the lA is appointed as UM/Sales Officer, the agency code should be deactivated.
3. lA appointed as UM/Sales officer under this program shall have an option to revert back to his
earlier position as lA only within his probation period in the Company.
Any exception to the policy will need approval from MD & CEO.
