Dear Prospective Client

Im very happy to present to you our new 2 tool string. Many of our
customers were asking us for suitable tools for a 4 borehole, so we started
developing SHARP (Slim Hole ANTARES Reservoir Probes). It is as flexible
and reliable as the 3 3/8 tool string and runs under the same surface
system.
For the various applications of our clients, ANTARES offers three different
ratings of the instruments:
175 Deg.C (350 Deg.F) and 140 MPa (20,000 psi)
150 Deg.C (300 Deg.F) and 100 MPa (14,000 psi)
100 Deg.C (212 Deg.F) and 35 MPa (5,800 psi)
SHARP is an example of our close collaboration with our customers which
has been key to expanding our business over the last 20 years when
ANTARES has grown from a single small office in Germany to an
international company. Today we have offices in Houston, Moscow and Abu
Dhabi serving customers in over 30 countries. Our clients see ANTARES as
a partner not only for leading edge technology but also for training,
maintenance and Research & Development.
Our customers appreciate the individual and comprehensive support
provided by ANTARES and the reliability of the tools and surface system.
The combinability of our instruments helps them to reduce rig time
dramatically. ANTARES tools are accepted by State & International Oil
Companies because the response and the accuracy of the tools provide logs
comparable to those of major service companies, as demonstrated in test
runs.
Therefore please see our new 2 catalogue featuring SHARP logging
tools. Together with my team, I hope we will become partners in the future.
Discover the Made in Germany difference!

Telemetry / GR / CCL
The ANTARES 0928 Digital Telemetry instrument handles the communication between the ALADIN
surface system and ANTARES digital downhole instruments in both directions. It also monitors the
temperature of the telemetry electronics and the cable head voltage.
The tool includes a Gamma Ray scintillation detector, measuring the total gamma rays emitted by the
surrounding formation and a Casing Collar Locator. The Gamma Ray Log (GR) can be ran in open and
cased holes, in all mud systems and in dry holes. For cased hole operations, a CCL is also part of the
tool.

Spectrum Gamma Ray

The ANTARES 1484 Spectrum Gamma Ray (SGR) is an instrument logging the natural gamma
radiation. The tool measures the entire gamma ray spectrum from 0 to 3000 keV. It records the total
amount of Gamma Rays and provides quantitative measurements of the 40Potassium, 232Thorium and
238
Uranium contents of the formation.
The Spectrum Gamma Ray Log can be run in open and cased holes with all mud systems and also in
dry boreholes.

Compensated Neutron
The ANTARES 1483 Compensated Neutron instrument works with an Americium Beryllium source
and two detectors. The source emits high energy neutrons which undergo scattering in the formation,
lose energy and produce gamma rays. The thermal neutrons are measured by the two detectors in the
tool.
The tool can be ran in both open and cased holes and in most types of mud. In order to minimize the
borehole effects, the tool is run decentralized.

Pe Density
The ANTARES 1482 Pe Spectrum Density instrument includes a pad with a Cesium source emitting
gamma rays and two detectors. From the energy spectrum and count rates of the two counters, the
borehole compensated formation bulk density and a photo electric absorption index are calculated.
A caliper measurement is provided, permitting compensation for borehole effects. The pad device tool
can be run in any mud except in barite mud, which absorbs the Gamma Rays and therefore affects the
density reading heavily. A Correction Curve indicates the influence of the borehole rugosity.

Compensated Acoustic / CBL

The ANTARES 1335 Borehole Compensated Acoustic instrument is designed for acquiring high
resolution, full wave acoustic data. Two ceramic monopole transmitters emit the acoustic signal
which is recorded by two ceramic receivers. During one logging run, the formation travelling time in
the open hole interval and the cement bond log in the cased hole section can be recorded. The log
requires a fluid filled borehole but is independent of the mud type.

Dual Induction Log

The ANTARES 1148 Dual Induction instrument presents deep and medium investigation induction
resistivity curves calculated from conductivity measured by the tool.
Transmitter coils induce an electromagnetic field in and around the borehole. Variation in the field,
detected by the receiver coils, corresponds to variations in the conductivity in the formation adjacent
to the tool. Corrections are applied to remove the borehole effects.
The log is most suitable in high resistive mudsystems, e. g. oil based and freshwater, mud or air filled
holes.

and finally
ANTARES designs and develops leading edge technology to create advanced and reliable logging
equipment and to provide high quality API standard data. State-of-the-Art design tools such as
Altium and Solid Works are used to design ANTARES sophisticated instruments. The company
employs a team of Geophysicists, Programmers, Mathematicians and Mechanical and Electronic
Engineers for the development of these products.
The customer finds in ANTARES a one-stop-shop offering a comprehensive logging system of
dependable down-hole tools and easy-to-use panels and software. The down-hole tools include openhole and cased-hole instruments with diameters of 1 11/16 , 2 and 3 3/8 . ANTARES electrical and
hydraulic winch offerings round out the system solution.
Design and quality during manufacturing are crucial to ANTARES, consequently advanced inspection
and quality control procedures have been implemented throughout the engineering and manufacturing process. Every manufactured product is subjected to a multi-stage quality control and
monitoring procedure, and logging tools are only approved for shipping after they have passed a
complex final check in our own Neutron API standard test pit or test well.
ANTARES down-hole equipment is fully digital. This ensures a high data quality, reliable signal
transmission and very efficient operation.
ANTARES equipment has been used successfully in deep and hot wells (8500 m, 250C) and also at the
other extreme in the Antarctica, at temperatures well below the freezing point.
