PRE-QUESTIONNAIRE GRAPHS
We surveyed 30 people in total and asked them a range of questions relating to whether
they would be interested in watching a documentary. The following questions then related
to the issue we want to make our documentary about: autism. We used this prequestionnaire in order to determine the level of knowledge an audience could potentially
have concerning the issue. As a result we can begin to select potential focus areas
surrounding the wider issue of autism and pick one that will lend itself to being
explored in depth and from different angles.

OUR PRODUCT IS NOT SPECIFICALLY AIMED AT MALES OR

AS HIGHLIGHTED BY THE GRAPH, WE SURVEYED A WIDE RANGE OF
AGES. THIS WAS DONE TO ENSURE WE GAINED RESPONSES THAT
MAKE OUR PRODUCT APPEAL TO AS MUCH OF OUR POTENTIAL
AUDIENCE AS POSSIBLE. THERE IS SLIGHTLY HIGHER NUMBER IN
THE TWO YOUNGER CATEGORIES AS THE MAJORITY OF OUR PEERS
ARE IN THESE CATEGORIES AND THUS IT WAS EASIER TO ASK THEM
TO COMPLETE THE SURVERY. HOWEVER WE WERE CAREFUL TO
ENSURE A MINIMIM OF 2 PARTICIPANTS WERE INCLUDED FOR
EACH CATEGORY.

THIS WAS AN OPEN QUESTION AND DESIGNED TO ASSESS THE DEPTH OF UNDERSTANDING OUR POTENTIAL AUDIENCE MEMBERS
HAVE. SOME EXAMPLES OF THE DEFINITIONS FOR AUTISM GIVEN, INCLUDE ACCURATE DESCRIPTIONS LIKE IT BEING A
DEVELOPMENTAL DISORDER. HOWEVER THERE WERE ALSO A LARGE PROPORTION THAT DIDNT REALLY HAVE A CLEAR IDEA OF
WHAT AUTISM ACTUALY IS, EVEN IF THEY INDICATED THEY HAD HEARD OF IT IN THE PREVIOUS QUESTION. FOR EXAMPLE ONE
RESPONSE DEFINED AUTISM AS SOMETHING THAT AFFECTS BOYS AND MEANS YOU CANT SPEAK PROPERLY.. THIS LINKS TO IDEA
THAT WE MAY EXPLORE IN THE DOCUMENTARY THAT A LACK OF UNDERSTANDING IS WHAT PREVENTS STUDENTS WITH AUTISM
FROM BEING SUPPORTED PROPERLEY. SO WE WILL HAVE TO GIVE A CLEAR AND PRECISE DEFINITION OF AUTISM IN THE OPENING
