Shmuel Shlomo, ah, also known as Sam, was a close friend of Sinai Academy. A native of Hartford
Connecticut, Sam was not raised in a strictly observant home. As a young man, he visited Eretz
Yisroel and attended Ohr Somayach. There he was inspired and wanted a new direction in life. Upon
his return to America, Sam turned his life around and decided to join the Boro Park community.
Sam was never married, but he endeared himself to quite a few families in his neighborhood,
spending many happy Shabbosos and Yomim Tovim with his adopted mishpachos. Sam attended
many family simchos, always trying to be prompt and helpful. He was also a friend of the
children, often offering words of advice or encouragement.
Sam was a serious person, honest and straightforward. He also had a sense of humor, and
composed genuinely humorous grammin on Purim. He was structured, consistent, and careful
about his Yiddishkeit. His davening at the Agudah of Sixteenth Avenue was of utmost importance
to him, and so was his daily daf yomi. He worked in the computer and accounting departments of
various companies, and was always careful to be employed in a religious ehrlich environment.
For many years, Sam was instrumental in helping Sinai Academy with its annual Chinese
Auction. He made himself available for any task at hand. Sam always did it with joy and with a
sense of purpose because he recognized the significance of Sinais mission. He was a true member
of the Sinai family, and he will be sorely missed.
Your donation to this years Chinese Auction will surely serve as an aliya for the neshama of
Shmuel Shlomo ben Reuven Halevi.
May his memory be blessed.
