Duane and Melissa Moore

Serving in Mission Evangelism

November - December 2014

Dear Friends and Supporters:

It seems hard to believe that I am penning the final prayer letter for 2014. As I write today, Im preaching in
Madison VA at the Fellowship Baptist Church for Pastor Dale Freeman. When I finish up here Ill head home and
our family will immediately head out to enjoy Christmas with our families in North Carolina and Georgia. I will
have two Sunday services (Burlington NC and Summerville GA) and the Hillcrest Baptist Watch-night service
remaining this year.
November was a busy month (even more so as we adjusted to a new born). I preached revival
meetings at Calvary Baptist in Crandal, GA (Pastor Curt Thomason) and Shady Grove Baptist in
Sevierville, TN (Pastor David Carver). There was a great youth
meeting with Pastor Mark Ward at Friendship Baptist in Spring City,
TN. I preached a full Sunday and enjoyed their Thanksgiving
Fellowship at Battlefield Baptist in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA (Pastor David
Crane.) I also preached at Canaanland Christian School in Chapel.
Our family is doing well and all of us are adjusting to having a new
baby back in the house.
Our entire family (including Will & Spencer) flew to Colorado for a 16 day western swing. I preached for 3
churches, visited a fourth and spent time with at least 6 missionary families. The Teddy & Crystal Angel family
was kind enough to pick us up in Denver and take us to Gillette, WY. Our first meeting was at Prairie View
Baptist in Moorcroft WY (Missionaries Doug and Robin Baker). We enjoyed a refreshing revival, good fellowship
and good attendance. I even had the privilege to preach the Sunday afternoon rest home
service. Bro. Angel and his family stayed for part of the meeting and blessed us with their
music. Then on to Faith Baptist Church in Ft. Hall, ID (Missionaries Joe and Lela Copley).
Friday evening we were joined by Nathan and Andrea Kirkman, their girls and several from
their church. They are missionaries in Logan, UT. It was a
blessing to fellowship with them and have them sing. Sunday was
crunch time as we helped the Copleys and others prepare for the
traditional Thanksgiving feed. I fried 4 turkeys the challenge
was the strong winds, cold temperatures and ice and snow. Over
80 folks attended the Sunday night service and celebration. One
precious Indian lady was saved during the meeting. It was a
blessing to see Missionaries Josh and Christi Sykes at the meeting (they serve in Blackfoot, ID). We also were
able to fill the back of the Baker Suburban with food and supplies from the Western Warehouse (the Bakers
Ministry) and deliver it to three of these missionary families.
From Idaho, we headed back into Wyoming. We drove about 150 miles on snowy roads
as we crossed through Jackson, WY and the surrounding area. We arrived slightly late
(because of the snow) at Arapahoe Baptist Church near Riverton, WY for a special
Tuesday night service. To our surprise, 3 area churches had joined Arapahoe for the
service. It was a pleasure to meet Bro. Mike and Sis. Kelly Sutphin (of whom I had

heard much!) and be in service with the Smith and Frisk missionary families.
Pray for our friends at Arapahoe they need a pastor for this work.

Over 55 folks attended the meeting.

We enjoyed Thanksgiving with the Bakers and the folks at Moorcroft before heading back
to Denver. While in Colorado, we went by and visited 4 Mile Community Baptist Church
(Bro. Angel) where Bro. Doug Baker preached a great message. We flew back to Georgia
on Monday, December 1st. Our special thanks to the Bakers and Angels for loaning us
vehicles (on which we put 3000 miles), the families that put us up and put up with us!, and
all the churches that allowed us to be a part of their services.
Returning to Georgia on Monday, I pulled out Tuesday headed to South Texas and a
mission conference at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Donna TX (Missionary Roy Dale
and Jeanie Kincaid). I introduced Faith Promise at the meeting. The church was
presently paying about $250/month support to 5 missionaries their new commitment
was already at $805 when I left PRAISE THE LORD! As Paul reminds us, they are
learning to abound in the GRACE of giving. The church in the valley is doing well
remember them in your prayers. While in the valley, I preached school chapel at Grace
Baptist in Harlingen TX (Pastor Mark Laiklam) and the monthly Rio Grande Valley Youth Meeting (held at
Cornerstone). This youth meeting feeds our summer camp in the valley! Next month the youth meeting will try
something new the memory verses and quizzes will be the youth leaders and adults! There you go show
them how its done! Jeb Biddy, a young preacher from Georgia came with me on the trip. I enjoyed his company
and the churches really enjoyed him as well.

LOOKING AHEAD:
The New Year is upon us and we have many goals and plans. I have penciled in mission trips to Bolivia, Belize,
England and possibly Burkina Faso. I have had conversations with men in Panama, Honduras, and even Papua
New Guinea about coming to preach. Many western doors remain open to us as well! In addition, there will be
summer camps as always. I need the wisdom of the LORD to choose the doors to enter.
Please pray for our family we desperately need additional support. Our travel in 2014 left us clearly in a
financial hole. We will need the LORD to move on our behalf to keep this schedule. I will write more in January
but please pray that the LORD would add to our support family.
